So I started skiboarding last winter and got my bf to try them too. I am going to get a pair and he also wants one, but he is not a good skiier, nor is he adventurous like I am. He likes them and finds them really easy to ride. Can you suggest a good pair for him? He definately wants releasable bindings and he is 6' 185lbs. He will not be riding them hard or anything. I was thinking that the snowjams would be good for him or should he go with a longer board? We do most of our skiing upstate NY.

Ok this time I am sure you said RELEASABLES lol and you said hes not super adventurous so the Riser with the 610 binding should be good and If you want quality boards then you ride Revel8, made great, good costumer support and they can really take a beating, as for size anywhere from 94mm to 105mm would be his best bet for ease of use since you said he didnt do very well with the skiing thing
And even though your BF might not be doing anything super rough with his boards I'm sure their are people on here that can tell you about breaking their snowjam skiboards lol

At 185lbs snow jams might not be strong enough for him. My older cousin is about that weight but a bit shorter. He just had a decent crash, was'nt trying to break the sound barrier or anything. But he did break both of his boards, One heal and one toe. He then got what was quality back then and they lasted for as long as I can remember. So quality now is always better than quality that you have to buy later anyway.

Id steer clear of the snowjams. Great for beginners but just dont hold up to the beating like the revels.
I would go with the BWPs. Great movement/turning/carving and casual riding, if thats his style. At 98cm Sounds like they would be a good fit.

I'm a bit taller but the same weight as your bf. I started on SnowJam 90's, and they survived much beating and crashing on my feet. Having said that, R8's are definitely the way to go if you have the cash. In many ways, my EMP's (Revolts) are easier to ride than my 90TT's were. The extra length/width gives a lot of stability; and the extra flex, higher/wider tips, and deep sidecut make variable conditions no problem to get through.

Revolts... Haha you'll definitely never go wrong with R8's; I don't know how much I'd trust some of the snowjam stuff. I think Revolts or any of the 105cm boards would be fantastically suited to him.
