Official Contest Date

Ok, I have the confirmation that the contest will take place between February 14th and 21st.

Instead of deciding the actual 2 days of the contest myself I leave it up to you riders... Any day of the week is good (apart from saturdays which are crowded), so I've opened this thread to decide the date together...

you may have posted this earlier but to make it easy can you make one post with all the info. ie: what airport to fly into? what mountain will the event be happening on? what dates will the event most likely occur? do you have any lodging setup up or recommendations?

i'm thinking about coming over for it and i need this info so i can analyze the cost.

Yeh greco that would be really cool then me and you could sponser the event.! Greco come over for a week and we can skiboard the mountain. The place is called madonna di campligio. If you want to stay somewhere we can probably arrange it together. The event is between 14th and 21st Febuary, 2 days between then. I was looking at the airports the other day and we fly to lavona or somewhere like that.

Yes that is precisely the place, here's some extra info which Greco requested and might help all of you:

airport to fly into: Aereoporto Valerio Catullo in VERONA (http://www.aeroportoverona.it), you should then take train/buses towards the resort, which is pretty famous so it won't be a problem to reach it.

A precise Date: Ok, since it seems like deciding together might not be a good idea I'll say that the event will take place on wednesday 18th and thursday 19th :D

I don't have any lodging organised, but i can advise to search for a place in Marilleva, which is MUCH cheaper (up to half price) and is beautifully ski-linked to Madonna di Campiglio.

Yeh allz sorry for the 11th... I initially wrote that and i immediately realized it was wong so i edited the post...

The residences are not expensive at all, and they aren't bad at all... (Kitchen, TV, 1/2 bathrooms...)

Add another €150 for the weekly resort ticket (Access to 140 lifts and 340 km of perfect slopes...)

I advise you once again to search in Marilleva rather than in Madonna di Campiglio (MDC from now on...make it easier)

i just checked MDC web-page, the events section. they have a weirdo "44th Mickey Mouse Ski Trophy" on february 18-19, 2005, which is pretty overlapping with our event. what can you say about this folks? :eek:

2. Skipass prices: €143 for 5 days, €162 for 6 days. which allows you to use over 140 lifts and 340 km's of slopes.

Thanks tom, the ski-linked resorts are MDC, Marilleva, Folgarida... The other ones are at 15 minutes car distance, but believe me, the three linked ones are more than enough...

The main park (Ursus) is in MDC (+ quarter / pipe) there's a pipe in Marilleva and rumors suggest there might be a small park in Folgarida, but i personally wouldn't be too sure about it.

It's one lift from where we're staying... Usually what i do is get back to Marilleva at 4-5 pm when the lifts close, then stay in the pipe till there's enough light to be able to ride (no artificial light...). Then get back to Marileva riding.

how are all the 140lifts/340km linked? i mean, can i get from one place to any other by lifts/skiing (obeying skibuses)?

I'd say 3/4 of the lifts and slopes are ski-linked...There's no way you'll have enough time in a week to run on every single one ;)

I really don't know... What i can say for sure is that MDC and Marilleva are the biggest resorts out of all, not quite sure about Folgarida but it's quite large too. What do you mean by friction?

BILO : hmm, its 2 room i think or sumtin like that!

4+1 is, 3normal beds + 1 bigger, and then, there can fit 4ppl, but if there will sleep in one bigger bed 2ppl then it can fit all 5 ( its the bagic number : 4+1=5 ;) )

BUT,we are 2 ppl for now, so there should be some free beds!!!

Right im just going to clear this up so theres no miss understanding and nothing goes wrong when we get there. I got the letter through the post today from the hotel company in italy. It also comes with a map, your receipt and rules and regulations!! In the rules and regulations it says "The Apartment must only be occupied by the number of people agreed on the booking" I just thought i would let everyone know that before we get there amd get kicked out hehe.

Yes those are the rules...but one or two people more won't even be noticed, the residences are pretty big. And in case you are told something you can say those extra people are 'guests' who came for a day.

when i talk to them (Italy residence) i just ask a room,residence or call how u like it, but they told they have BILO 4+1 left, and thats all, then havent said that if i have 4+1 then it fits only 2 persons, its redicilious, Tommy, its shiit, if u have a 4 fitting residence, then u CAN take some friends with ya!! hmm..but maybe not..:D, ok, but i can, ..because of that 4+1 = 5ppl can sleep in that residence ..bla bla bla, thats all, when we will be there, then wewill see!
