Hi all, I just bought a set of ALLZ skiboards with the Snowjam Extreme bindings. I am so excited!
I just got back from a ski trip in Whistler, Canada. And it was on that trip which prompted me to purchase my own set of gear. On this trip, I wanted to rent skiboards but they didn't even know what skiboards were. But the major problem were the size of the boots. See, I have extra wide feet which is problematic. They didn't have any wide boots. As a result, the boots I wore made my feet really painful and kinda ruined my Whistler experience.
When I got home, I decided I needed my own gear to prevent this problem in the future. I had rented skiboards once before at Mountain High and I enjoyed em. So I decided to buy them from this site. Now I just need boots!
Can anyone recommend a good place to buy boots in orange county? I was thinking about just going to my local Sports Chalet. I plan on spending around $200, any recommendations?
Well, I just wanted to introduce myself. Anyone else from the Orange County area?

Head boots have a fairly wide fit.
your best bet it to go to a sports store, tell the clerk you ahve wide feet and if their know their boots they will be able to help you a fit you a good boot.
at 200$ your looking at a entry level boot, or low intermediate.

What head boots we talking??? Cause i have never found a pair that fit wide. I am talking into dd-e. I found them to be the narrowist.......Maybe its just me.
Go to a store and check out the selection. All is preference and fit really. I see you spending more into the 250 range.....with tax and what not.

well GOD FUKING DAMN!!!!
So as it turns out, the DHL guy came today at 11am and attempted to drop off the package and they need a signature. But i was sleeping!! why didnt anyone tell me they would need a signature?!?!
DHL is closed 2moro(tues) so they wont be attemping to drop off and i cant go pick it up. Now i have to wait till wednesday. Sigh.
BTW, i bought a paid of HEAD Edge 8+ boots for $200 at sports chalet. They are surprisingly wide and fit me really well. I am a size 9.5 triple E. When the guy measured me he was shocked at how wide my feet were. he said they were "ridiculous". One thing that concerns me about these boots is the plastic buckles, they are just waiting to break.

i live behind the Orange Curtain...
too bad i didn't see this earlier otherwise, i'd have steered you to ebay for boots. the best way is to find the model/size you like, try them at a shop, then buy them online.
hope you get your boards soon.

Some of the plastic in clips is stronger then the actual boot plastic...

If you are still looking for boots you might do the following:
1. go to a local store with good selection of boots and patiently try few brands and models. Generally Salomon is considered to have the most comfortable boots.
Don't mind the price (at this stage) look only for the most comfortable boot and remember that boots will be much stiffer on snow than in the store.
2. From the store keep in mind 2-3 models and then check online the prices and availability for same models.
Big price difference between local stores and online ... try www.skis.com they have by far the best prices and selection on ski boots. Actually they have few websites, different names but same prices and inventory.
...
I got a new pair of boots, three weeks ago. The stores had them between $600 and $480 (on sale) but online were $250 & free shipping & 30 days money back ...
