I have a mate who is getting in to Skiboarding...due to my influence!

He is thinking about getting some cheap Line Flys from a local shop (£50 = $90). They are the old model with the Aluminium Bindings and the Clown on the board.

He asked me what I think...I am still new to the sport so am not sure myself, but I noticed they are only 84cms and he is 6 foot...are they too short for him?

Any suggestions....I have told him to order from Greco but he says he cant afford it.

it depends on a few factors.

1. what experience level does he have skiing and inline skating.

2. what type of riding does he want to do? park, carving, trees, powder, all mountain, moguls, speed?

Hi Greco,

Same as me really......Carving, Air......bit of powder and small amount of park (V.small!). Needs an all round board ideally I guess..trying to talk him into some M7s but he says he just dont have the cash.

Reading around online at lunchtime, one review said they were aimed at kids and not suitable for adults...is this true?

yeah for his size and what he wants to do he should probably have 99cm boards but if he doesn't have the cash then there is nothing he can do. he would enjoy them probably. hell i started on 76cm boards 8 years ago and i had a blast. i wouldn't go back to them but since that was all their was i made the most of them and loved it. maybe he could do the same.

I've got a pair of them and I really had a blast riding them. Bought them used and poped an edge but I have another pair now that I keep around to let my friends use. I'm only about 5'3" so they might be a little more challenging for him but if they're being sold for that cheap, why not? Better than nothing thats for sure.
