Hey guys, just got back from the Orthopedic doctor and he says I possibly have a partially torn ACL and/or partially torn miniscus. Apparently he wants me to switch from my current non-releasable FFPros to something releasable (being a skiboarder I assumed Spruce). Any ideas about pro lite versus pro prime? I'm 17, 5'10" and about 148. I'm still opposed to the idea of getting rid of my non-releasables (recently purchased I might add) but my parents go by what the doctor says. Anyway, will I notice a huge difference in performance? Ugh this sucks.

I have the Pro Lites and I like them a lot, use them on my Spruce 120s. The only difference between the Pro Lites and the Pro Primes are the Rossi bindings, with the Primes have a wider DIN setting than the Lites.
Also, I got the powder plates last week for my upcoming trip.

Yea man I got the pro primes and couldn't be happier. I was on non-release for a little while and won't go back. The piece of mind for myself is a sales pitch in and of itself, plus I'm not a park rider so it's the best setup for me. Can't go wrong with the Spruce's. Top notch!

In addition to the DIN differences the pro primes come with a wide brake and the lites come with leashes. (note: the brake is not wide enough for the KTP's or Condor's.

That's cool, but I am a park rider (or am attempting to be one :D ). I never lost peace of mind with my non-releasables, and I would love not to have to get rid of them. I need a convincing argument for nons...

I got one of the first Spruce Pro Lite bindings produced by Jeff, he put wide brakes on mine, so for me, it's purely the DIN. :-)
So I've got both wide brakes and leashes on them.

I'd go back again and look at G's chart. The one set of releaseables that is recommended for park riding are the pro primes. Plus as Mr. Carver stated the DIN can be adjusted for better park riding. There's a good argument for releaseables! :)
I'd get the ones with the brakes. Think about a crash where your ski comes off.... I sure wouldn't want it attached to my leg by a small string.

Style of what exactly? And yeah Mark, I agree I'm pretty sure I want the breaks. Plus I like the look of the white.

im gonna get a pair of spruces for the condors at jay peak, you'll get used to them. I've installed them on several boards at SBOL and they're totally burly looking. Jeff doesn't mess around.

Mark , how come the Spruces instead of a non release on the Condors ?
Is it required for competition entry ???
I am kind of interested in the whole idea of when folks decide to use a release vs a nonrelease . I know it is a personal decisiion but I would like to know how folks decide for themselves. . So far this year , I had my Sherpa 130 catch on some cruddy snow buried a tip and fell forward popping out of my Spruce touring riser/release binding . I feel comfortable on my KTP with non release , I kind of keep thinking if I should be using the Spruce release system when I ride my ALP but am torn because the Extreme 2 is so much lighter . and I like the light feel . ... I am 6 ft tall .... no park stuff.... I also wonder whether it is just the length of the board , or whether the width of the board also has something to do with risk of injury .. for example would I be safer with a non release binding on the ALP vs the Condor ????
