I get the fun, well the writing part isnt fun cuz of all the grammer junk, but for school i get to write two papers on skiboarding.
the first will be a presuasive paper on skiboarding vs snowboarding or skiboarding vs skiing. and an editorial/article on skiboarding to the local news paper.
i havent desided wether i want to persuade people from snowboarding or skiing or both.
have any suggestions feel free to shoot them at me
also i will post specifics later on after class

it's always easier to convice someone to try something new than to change their thinking about a subject so....instead of trying to convince people who already go to ski mountains and slide on something to switch, why not try to persuad inline skaters who have never been to a ski hill that they should take up skiboarding. and, there's a bunch of inline skaters on here who could give you info about how they started and why.

hey kelli- what is you're writing the paper for? i mean, what is the supposed scope of it, is it physiology, sports, social movements or pure sports marketing, promotion?
i think this might help thinking on the topic. anyways, it's grate you can choose skiboarding for academic purposes ;)
cheers!

OK the first paper the persuasive paper is for english class(AP eng 101). I have to write the paper to persuade someone to try something or to look at it from my point of view. At first i was thinking like skiing vs skiboarding or something to that sort but the greco mentioned that it would be good to write something with the skatin vs skiboardin(try to persuade skaters to try skiboardin). would have an outline like this but i dont have all the info yet. i must have three different types of rescorses. have one type which is an internet.
1. introduction
2. pros of skating
3.pro and cons of why skaters should try skiboarding
4. pros of skiboarding
5. conclusion
now as to the second paper
it is also for English. I have to write a letter/small article to an editor on an event issue or topic. recently in our local paper they had a small article in the sports section about the upcoming winter season. they mentioned skiing and snowboarding but nothing about skiboarding So im writing a small thing on the history of skiboarding and about the sport itself. i have 700-1000 words for this so i have to choose what i feel is the most important info and then write it.(doesnt really have to have any scources but it will refer to several websites so people can look into it further)
Im welcome to any suggestions/rescourses/anything.
the rescorces can be like i said previously internet, magazine(if internet has to be published in paper format also), book, and/or video.

Dear Editor,
As winter draws near many are gearing up for winter sports like snowboarding and skiing. But little if anything is said about skiboarding. Most would probably ask, “What are skiboards?”, before they could ask anything about the sport of skiboarding.
Skiboards are a combination of skis and snowboards. Half the length and twice the width of skis, skiboards are twin-tipped and should be wood cored and sintered based. The length of skiboards can be anywhere from 59cm to 120cm. Using four hole non-release bindings, skiboards can be ridden by all skill levels. Many from both skiing and snowboarding have converted to skiboarding because of the levels of maneuverability and control that is had on skiboards. Easily taking their skate tricks from the street to the snow with skiboards, many skaters skiboard.
When it comes to skiboarding as a sport, there is no end to the amount of growth the sport can do. The common ski boarder can touch all areas of the mountain. Gaining a name, skiboarding has grown in popularity because of companies--Groove, Journey, Canon, and Mix Industries-- and men-- Dave Jarvis, Neal Lyons, and Brinton Gunderson. Teams like SBOL, ESS, and Canon are showing off all the possibilities of skiboarding to the world. Yearly competitions are sponsored skiboard makers and companies like skiboards online at resorts all over the world.
So whether you plan to go just downhill or hit the terrain parks this winter give ski boarding a try.

that sounds great, but i would add something about new companies coming in like mix, and take out "cough cough skiboards.com" and put in skiboardmagazine.com but yeh that sounds pretty good se what everyone else says about it.
