pressing, butters, etc...

hey im not really sure what the difference is between pressing and butters... honestly im not really sure how to do these either... if ne one could post up a vid with some presses or butters just so i can get an idea of what ppl are talking about

correct me if I'm wrong but I think presses or pimpslides are done on the ground and butters are done on rails.

actually I think presses are usually on a feature, kinda like a stall but either on your tips or tails, where you put all your weight on you tips


you might be able to do both on the ground. I know you can do butters on the ground or on a feature

i butter is when you spin on the flat ground, a nose butter or tail butter is when you do this when putting all your weight on your nose or tails of your skiboards.

presses are done on boxes and rails.

a nose/tail press would be sliding a rail/box perpendicular to your slding direction but with only the nose/tails of your skiboards on the feature.

wait a minute... you mean doing those fun 360 spins, on the ground/slopes, are actually called "butters"?? I had NO idea! Heck, I feel special now! I thought butters was something ya did on the rails & boxes.
