Im going to les deux alps in france in 3 weeks and its 12,000 feet above see level at the peaks and you start getting altitude sickness at 8000 feet, has anyone had it or had any tips how to not get it, cus i dont want to wreck my week by getting it. Im only going for a week so do you think i will be alright? oh and ive never been in altitude higher than about 6000 feet at the most before.
Thanks

I used to ride all the time in Tahoe, CA mountain tops range from 8,200 to 10,000 and I never had a problem, never really even noticed anything. Drink a lot of water and don't smoke cigarettes.

Yeah man I wouldnt worry too much. I ride mammoth top to bottom and the to peak is like 10,500 or something like that. You might feel a bit fatigued but nothing major. Just do lik G said. Drink a lot of water. That and have a jaegermeister shot every now and then and you'll be fine...lol. Have fun man!!!!
