I thought I would make a new thread for this topic because we need to get accomodations, flights and transportation to and from whistler, booked as soon as possible. As of now the plan is to stay in the shoestring lodge which is a hostel located approximately 1 km from the base of the mountain. This may change depending on whether or not JapSpec is able to get us a deal on accomodation elsewhere in the village. The dates will be approximately March 12-18, but this may end up changing by a day or two. So what I need to know now is who is interested in coming on this trip and whether or not the 12th-18th works for you. Depending on numbers we will be able to rent a limo (6 passengers) or a van (10 passengers) to take us to and from whistler for only 700 bucks canadian. (note: round-trip for bus is $130 per person)
-I know most of this information has been written before but i felt it needed a new thread so this topic doesnt die out.
SO WHO'S IN?????
peace,
kevin

i think it should either be from the 10th to the 18th or the 12th to the 20th, 6 days doesnt seem like it would be long enough

I was out there last springtime, and I would have to say that spring snow @ whistler on skiboards will tire you out quick :) I managed to do ok on everything there except this one run that was like a thin layer of ice on top with snow underneath. My skis kept breaking thru the ice and catchign the tips, no matter how much I leaned back. Also when we did get deep powder I found it a litle tough to stay above (riding canon neil lyons) however I am a 200lb guy so I sink in.
Whistler was freaking awesome though. It's enormous. It would take forever to ride the whole mountain.
The terrain park is just enormous, you better know what you're doin or you can jack yourself up big time. They have a nice little terrain "garden" with smaller jumps and rails if you don't want to take the huge jumps!
That's just a little of my experience @ whistler last year, I'd be interested to hear anyone else's!
