I'd like to see everyone make a list of what they think the top 10 or so skiboards are for their time-frame. Obviously this group seems to be really biased towards line / mix / canon in different ways, but the point remains that they all contributed something to the sport.
What I'd like to see is a list of what skiboards are / were the best around for their time-frame and how they stack up to today's standards.
For example... The line weapons were probably one of the most innovative boards and to date the only boards (that I'm aware of) that incorperated a grind plate into the base.
Another example... Kneissl Big Foot pretty much started the trend which eventually led to skiboarding. For their time they were the best around, but in today's standards they are basically still around for historical value.
Please give a ranking for how they were then and how you think they stack up today. Let's try to include all facets of skiboarding weather or not they stack up to today's standards, or if they were just out for a quick buck, etc.
Mix, Canon, Line, Groove, Journey, Snowjam, K2, Kneissl, Saloman, Dynastar, Fischer, etc.. are all companies that should be taken into coonsideration even if you feel their product was junk.
We should probably include years as well as quality inproved / declined for certain products over time.
Example...canon used to have delaminating issues, but corrected this issue over the recent years.
I guess we could do another post like this for bindings as well, but let's just see how this one goes for starters.
