For those of you with cell phones (uh almost everybody nowadays) they now started a national do not call list for them.
Beginning in January it will be legal for telemarketers to begin spamming your cell phone numbers!!

So sign up for the national do not call list for cell phones asap!!

You can do this by going online to www.donotcall.gov or by
calling 888-382-1222 from the phone you wish to register

Hurry as the sooner you register the sooner you will get on the list!!

isn't it a breach of privacy? i mean, at least in Latvia (and i guess most of EU) mobile operators are not authorized to reveal personal nubers to anybody. if the subscriber provides his/her number to other parties, then it's his/her own responsibility.

still, if what you're saying is true in US, i guess competition might keep operators from spamming as long as you can find an operator which doesn't do it
