Not too many names yet.. :( I don't even think skiboarding will ever be back in the X-games, but I sure hope!
That's where I first saw skiboarding (on Eurosport (a sports channel in europe:P)) and I was hooked from the first second!

Jeff you do realise your going to probably have to get over a million people. the 230 people signed up to this forum is about a 100th of what we need..... Its probably just a waste of time but no harm in trying

I agree it is worth a shot, but if you look at all the other sports that are in the X games, they are all pretty mainstream, lots of athletes/riders and lots of fans.

1 million might be pushing it maybe about 10,000 and it only takes 200 to get a bill in to circulation to become a law so lets keep our hopes up.

I don't mean to be a buzz kill but this thread should probably just die. No matter how hard we try, a petition will not bring back skiboarding to the x-games. unless of course you can get at least 3 million signatures...even then i doubt ESPN would listen.

To hell with the odds. Think the guy who orignally strapped some wood to his feet and slid down a snow covered hill was even remotely concerned about odds? Count me in.

To hell with the Xgames. Espn is as good for our sport as salomon.

i agree with kirk ... espn would be as usefull to skiboard as salomon ...
besides skiboard won't never come back to x-games ... they stopped when our sport was famous (pro-riders, many brands growing up, etc) so why would they make it happen again today when REAL skiboard is the deal of a kind of the "underground" world that we are.
Skiboard won't never bring them money back so they won't look after skiboard again ... it's as simple as that.
And as ben was saying in an other post : forget about the golden age of skiboard and look to the FUTURE: YOU ARE the future and you make skiboard progress nowadays. If you want more skiboards comps, why not organising it ? ;)

Well there are a lot of skiboarders around the world that we never see. Just because they are not on this board doesnt mean they dont exist. But you are right the x-games will NEVER give skiboarding another shot no matter what. We could get 5 million signatures and they would still shun us. Reason why? Because we are not mainstream enough for them. Which is better in a lot of ways. The "golden age of skiboarding" is now I think. WE make it what it is and the direction it goes. Not some big corporation. The x-games wouldnt do anymore for the sport other than piss more snob-boarders off. All the riders we would send into battle would show snowboarders that we could rip them a new arse without even thinking about it. Then they would hate us more....maybe thats why we are not too popular in some places already. So underground is a good way to be.

what i find cool is that we'd like to see a competition becuase its entertainment, but skiboarders are in it for fun and self-expression and not the aspect of being cool and being all the hype.

the X games started off to showcase non-mainstream sports.
it should eb called the sports-that-used to-be-underground-that-now-got-popular-from-the-x-games games

man ! of course i know you are organizing contests for years ! ;)you're the one who helped us to organize the italian contest last year, how can i forget that ?
but i just wanted our guys there to realise that THEY are the ones who love the sport, they are the ones who'll build the future of skiboard and that it would be a great thing to see more "amateur" contests around the world.

I think there is something goofy with the forum. If you click on the Why Don't They thread, there isn't a recent post from Jeff Singer as it says it has. There's a ghost in the machine.
