So, I see most people on boarding forums are anti-extruded bases but like sintered ones. There seems to be a whole heap of bases, sintered, graphite, P-Tex, extruded, and some kind of special base on the Line Weapons.
What are actually the differences between these? How do the different bases perform on snow? What are they actually made off? Sintered sounds like someone crushed something, put a big heavy weight on it, and cut a skiboard from it...

extruded - holds wax very good, not so fast
sintered - doesnt hold wax as good, fast
graphite (no skiboards have these) - very fast
Oooh man... I don't want to create an argument, so please don't take offense. However to clear everything up, here are the facts.
Extruded bases are melted and cut to shape. Extruded base is the slowest and holds less wax. Extruded is much cheaper and used in the lower-end boards.
Sintered bases are ground into powder first, heated, pressed and then cut into shape. A sintered base is hands down the better base....it's faster, holds wax better and is more durable.
If you need or want me to go in deeper to explain, just let me know.
Thanks.

ok, now what is semi-sintered? i knew what sintered and extruded were, but canons are semi-sintered, or 2cm extruded or something like that. anyone know how they are made?
