View Full Version : Spreading the Word out West

So after just a few trips out last season, I got hooked on skiboarding but as some of you on this forum are aware, skiboarding has not blown up out here in the Northwest.
Thus, to the powers that be who may read this thread, I would love to spread the gospel of the sport as I hit the slopes like a madman this season.
I ordered some gear from SBOL last month and intend to make another order in the next couple of weeks (if not sooner).
The service from SBOL was great, the gear looks fantastic, and you guys on this forum have been helpful.
I'd love to spread the word about the sport, this forum, SBOL, etc. as I hit the slopes here in Oregon and Idaho this winter.
Every time I went out last season, I had a lot of people asking me questions and many that were very interested but I had nothing to tell them and no where to point them to. (I ordered my first set of boards online from a dealer in Utah on a whim before I found this site).
Just thought I'd offer up ... if there are promo/advertising materials I would be happy to pass stuff out when people start pelting me with inquiries.
Let me know.

I'm picking up a fusion pass this weekend and will probably head up to timberline for my first trip the weekend after thanksgiving ... be up both Sat and Sunday.
In December, I will make my annual Christmas trip back to Boise where I grew up. I plan to hit Brundage and Tamarack ... maybe Bogus ... depends on their conditions by that time.
We shall see.

It will be Christmas weekend (Dec 25th through the 28th). If I hit Bogus, it will be on Friday the 26th. Sat. is reserved for Brundage or Tamarack. Haven't been to Brundage in years and have not yet been to Tamarack at all ... would kind of like to check it out.

We'll be at Brundage in Feb (Presidents day weekend). We'll also be in Boise for THanksgiving. I don't know if Bogus will be open but I'll bring my boards.

I see the same thing where I go. I live in a college town and you'd think some of the students would be on skiboards, but I only see one or two each time I hit the mountain. It's the same story wherever I go, AZ, CO, UT. I used to see more when I lived in the Midwest, but not many. Maybe it's slowly working its way out this direction. I usually get a handful of people say that those look like fun, or they'll ask how do I like my little skis. People out here for the most part have been decent. Sounds like most of the haters are in the East.

Starting to plan my trip to Boise next weekend and I see Brundage, Bogus and Tamarack all have very little snow.
Was really hoping to hit it on Saturday the 29th, but things don't look too promising.
