Hey...has anyone ever used the Rossignol Soft Light 2 boots? They seem similar to the Salomon Verse with the pull lace in the front toebox area. There's a local shop near me that has last years model for $179 and I need boots. Let me know your thoughts...good or bad. Thanks :D

sweet thanks. I ended up going back and buying them after I posted. I figured I could always return them if I found bad reviews. I also saw that one of the few other places that actually sells skiboards online sells the Soft Light 1 and 3.
Now all I need is my set of BWPs and I'll be golden :D

Are the rossi soft boots really tight (or high up)around the calves?? They look like they'd be really comfortable but of course I couldn't find them online anywhere in a size 31 (US 13) so more than likely I'm looking for an ebay type find at some point unless someone on here had a good lead for them.
My current boots (Lange MID) are in really good shape, however I tend to get a lot of cramping in my calves from them. It's extremely hard to find boots in my size 13 US and even harder to find comfortable ones. In my area the only ski shops / sports shops around me only sell race type ski boots which lean forward waaaaay too much for skiboarding or snowboard soft boots.
The Deeluxe Lemans on here look good however they look like they come up really high on the calves and resemble my current boots in that way. Not to mention they only come up to a size 30 and $400 is way out of my budget.
What about the salomon verse boots sold over at skiboards.com (sorry Greco = ( but they actually have a 31.5cm boot over there that might work for me) I'd really hate to spend all that $$ and not be able to try them on, etc.. especially since boot sizes aren't like buying sneaks. My Lange's are a 30.5 and the best that I could do as far as fit when I bought them a few years back.

Phillycore,
I also am a size 31 and have a wide foot and these boots are great!
I bought them at Sport Chalet which is a national chain. Paid only 179.00
Have heard since that these boots are no longer being made this year. I would check out the sports store websites such as sportschalet for clearance items.

Phillycore - also try Sport Spot (732) 747-0585. That's where i got mine (last years model for $179) but I have no idea if he had any more. You can always call and ask. I'd say the store is about 1.5-2hrs away from Philly on the Jersey Shore in Shrewsbury, NJ.
I got my soft 3's at sportsliquidator.com They have some pretty good deals on boots.

I had the same problem with calves. And salomon verse 5.0 boots were comfortable to me. But for hard carving they are not stiff enough and I had to go for salomon performa 8.0 which are pretty good.
But I can definetely say that verse boots are soft, light and comfortable. Also "shock absorbing" is way better than in performa boots. So if you dont plan high speed carving and going to hit the rails and jump verse boots could be a good choice.

I rode the soft 2's last season. Beat the hell out them in the woods and broke a buckle. I found the 2's to be a bit snug. My buddy has the soft 3's and they look a lot better than mine do. The adjustments on the 3's are much better then the 2's. I also had trouble with the Velcro on my 2's. On really cold days, it didn't stay tight.
I just got a pair of Dolomite DC100's from Evo Gear for under $160 delivered. They are really comfortable and for the price, you get a pretty mean lightweight boot. I haven't ridden them too hard yet, but they seem like solid boots.

First of all I want to say bigup's to those of you that helped me out!!!
I did check out sports chalet, and evogear and neither had my size on any skiboard friendly boot.
sportsliquidator.com however did have a pair of 30.5cm Rossi Soft Light 3's for $169.00 with free shipping.
I grabbed a yardstick and measured my feet and from heel to toe they were 12 inches. I also did the paper and pen trick on an old supermarket bag and came out with the same 30.5cm's
Optimally I would have liked to get the 31 as I thought my Lange Boots were a 30.5 After I looked at them more, the liner says 30 - 30.5 on it and the shell says 30.5 on the bottom as well as 342mm, yet it had a sticker on the rear that says 30 . If I open up the shell it says 29 - 30.5 so who knows what size these damn things are.
Either way my main beef with them was not toe comfort it was the issue with my calves as I originally purchased them when I skied. They are definitely a race type boot and even in walk mode you pretty much are forced forward to a point which has led me to believe the reason why my calves seem to bother me unless I lean forward in them.
Anyway...thanks for all the help and hopefully these boots will be a lot better for me...

I agree with Lynam
The Rossi Softs are nice
Light comfy boots
if anything I say get the light 1's
Im using the 3's and they are comfy cause I have big calves
The micro adjustments are schweet
but what Im missing is the Thermofit liner
overall if you get the thermofit liners you'll feel like you're riding with no extra weight with the boots
