Had our first snow storm in the California mountains.. Mammoth mountain is open , Boreal gearing up to open this week , and the local hills with snow ripe to climb ... alright!!

Yes!! This storm got me all amp'ed up. I got out a couple of my boards and started to prep them for the season over the weekend. I put an 88 degree bevel on the Sherpa and cleaned up the edges on a couple of other skiboards. I'm going to have the Spruce blue board stone ground. I was really impressed last season by the stone grind and wax job my local shop did on my Summit 110. It showd me there is plenty of room for improvement for my own wax jobs.

dcox, here is a pic a guy posted on the telemark forum of backcountry skiing on top of carson pass yesterday near kirkwood, today should be even better,, damn I would be out there if I didn't have to work today ......

Color me jeleous. Today in Wisconsin it's 70 degrees and clear, ugh! At least it's supposed to be down to the 30's this weekend!

I want to get out so bad that today I called my local YMCA to see if I could use thier gymnastics floor to do some trick training...they said no that I had to be in a gymnastics class, I will be signing up for one when I renue my membership. I need to get into shape and start working on my inverts. It's nice to see people out there already, but I want to be there too and it just burns me up inside. Cool pix though.
