i have demon forceflex pro lows
I've got a girdle from football that I'm thinking of using occasionally. It has hip pads and a tail-bone pad, should help a lot with the bruises on your hips from having you feet slide out on rails. Haven't tested it out on the snow, though.

ummm there nice, but i think you may be better off with underpads for a sport like hockey or something like that....something with a little more padding, but they have great tailbone protection.
Don't be such a girl - why do you need padded shorts, that's what arse cheeks are for.

This may seem like overkill to some, but I'm thinking of getting these:

I've heard nothing but good things about the effectiveness of their Forcefield soft armor, and I can use the whole outfit for motorcycling as well during the summer. I don't know that I'd wear it all the time, but when I'm working on stuff in the park specifically, it'd be nice to know that you're well protected. I'm also considering just getting some shorts for general use.

I have the Head crash shorts, slid down a rail on my hip last year with no damage not sure that would have been the case if I had slammed. Padding definitely gives more protection than not but it is not super thick.
