Thanks for all the helpful replies on my previous post. Now, I'm looking into getting boots; and are there any advantaged to having a Thermoflex liner? Also, I'm looking into getting releasable bindings, but after I get my skiboard (I need time to save up the cash!).

My question is: Can you use the same boots with releasable and nonreleasable bindings?

Also, what does it mean when it says "These boots are not DIN compatible and are not recommended for use with releasable ski bindings"?

Finally, I like the idea of releasable bindings since its a little easier for you to stand back up after a big wipe out, but are there any disadvantages to them?

I know I'm asking a lot of questions, but bare with me, I'm a learning newbie ! :)

As long as the boots you want to use are ski-boots you can use them with releasable bindings because its regular salomon ski bindings :) I dont think you can use snowboard hardshell boots as they are not compatible with ski releasable bindings. But you can still use them with nonreleasables.

Releasable bindings are comfortable :) Just step in and go. But dont forget to take the bindings with safety brakes. Using them you save a lot of time cause you wont have to click those leashes anymore.

The only downside of releasable bindings i could see is that you get a little less "power transfer" to the boards. Metal non releasable bindings are more stiff and thus provide more precise control. But I dont think you would notice that :)

Btw, I tried to compare my releasable bindings (with canon M7) and unreleasables (plastic ones, fitted on Fischer XXL). And I can definetely say that spruce riser provide slightly better power transfer and response than bindings of XXL.
