Yesterday, we finially got the season started. I got the whole family out and it was a great day. Despite taking my skiboards I lasted exactly 1 run on them. I had interface issues between my older Spruces with Scratch 200 bindings and my Lange 100 Comp boots. The bindings just would not cleanly couple at the front of the boots. I kept ending up pigeon toed with one part of the front roller completely extended out and the other side not engaged at all. Anyone know of anything that can be done to adjust the bindings? My A60's fit those bindings fine but I didn't have them yesterday.
Regardless, it dumped all day long without stop, I thankfully had the heavy artillery in the bus so spent the day snowboarding. There are worse fates.
Today, my legs and lower back didn't give me a second of peace. If I were a horse they'd shoot me.
My son spent his very first day on skis and did extremely well. By the afternoon he was bringing his snowboarding skills to the game. I caught him putting his skis together and just raging through the pow and leaning over heavy to carve. He was great.
The Mrs's and girls spent the day whooping it up on the greens while dad raced them to the bottom of runs by taking the red and black lines - which is exactly why my lower back is killing me. By early afternoon I was doing those mad take down the whole slope in 3 turns swoops that require deep crouches and lots of static leaning while you bounce and plow through everything. A few times I paid high speed price tags. My wife seen me once and quipped I looked very sexy practicing my floor routine the whole way down that black run.
I really love those type of runs though - the type that there is a green that wraps around a section with various drop in points where you can turn the green into a black, red or blue and end up at the same lift. Great for families.
While it's not the best picture of us (we look a little goofy) it was the one we got someone to snap of us.

Post some pictures of the boot to binding interface.
BTW: Great family photo. Only goofy one is a male in his 40s :D

Hey Vannon, I had this happen to me at the end of the 06/07 season. It kept happening run after run. It was the last run of the season so I brought them home and messed around and cleaned them up a little. Last season I didn't have an issue. So i don't know if you got some dirt, or maybe a chunk of ice in them that caused it, but that may be the issue. Clean them up and try them again!

Mahatma, could you post a pic of the topsheet of that board?
Mahatma,
Just noticed that your snowboard is a full custom. Like GOM asked, please show us the top sheet.

LOL!!!! I can't lie, those days I do enjoy no responsibilities of being a mom! Little stays home with grandparents while I get to play and IT IS GREAT! BUT, I also can't wait til he is old enough to come with us too!!!!! That's gonna be a joy too, but I'll need the 'my days' still for sure!

I am 18 and when I still talked to my parents on a regular basis I was going crazy. No exaggeration and not joking. I was on medication for depression but now that I have stopped, I feel really good. I am more chill than ever in my life...but then again that could be the snow that is piling up outside of my house.

ahhh 18, that would explain alot. I'm, well.. 41 but sure feel and act and look younger! LOL, but I do appreciate family even though my mom drives me nuts many times... like today! But it's all good and I don't let my frustration show towards her at least try not too; she does alot for me still and I love both my parents immensly.

Hey guys thanks. She's posted below. I had the top sheet done in simple whitewash. The bindings are K2 cinches that I wore for the first time giving my Burton P1's a rest. The setup is the Mahatma standard of 21 degrees front and 9 degrees rear. The cinches work as advertised. I was impressed. They're not as stiff as my P1's and sometimes you have to give the toe cap a little push to get in back exactly right if you step in sloppily but again, they work as advertised and are a hell of lot better than having to buckle back in all the time.

Pinkkid,
Yea, I agree. You know I am known to say that I am always dad but every once in awhile I also get to be a friend to my kids. I'm a firm believer that what kids need most is a mentor. Someone who loves them and loves them enough to be tough on them. I'm no ogre but my primary job is to be an authority figure. When we go skiing I get to loosen the leash a little and just love them. We hug, kiss, throw snowballs, stuff snow down jackets, etc. after almost every run. The only rules are no playing like that while skiing as it can be dangerous, no playing in the actual lift lines (when you line up playtime is over) and there is no whacking each other with poles. I'm the worst. People look at my kids with a "please control him" look on their faces. It doesn't help when I'm snowboarding because it makes me look so stereotypical. Love makes you not care what others think. I'm hopelessly in love with them.
Very nice looking family Mahatma !! Hope you get everything working out with our Spruce set up ....

Does anyone know if it's a bad thing to shoot lube in there? I plan to blow them out with the compressor at work which would certainly dislodge any garbage that might be in there but it will also relieve any moving part of what might be necessary lubrication. Thanks.
Slow,
Forgot to thank you. I agree. I looked at the photo and thought "Gee, everyone looks great. Close your mouth there big boy."
Um, let's see, how can I justify that? Well, my mouth is open because after taking down the black that is in front of us without making a single turn or scrubbing off a bit of speed I had to grind to a halt right at the bottom to give CPR to a gorgeous 20 something and an old man who collided. The 20 something is fine. The old man didn't make it. But, his dying request was to be buried on the mountain so I dug a hole right there with my bare hands, gently put him in, covered him up and then ran over to my family for that picture so I was breathing pretty hard. Yea, that's it.

I don't know that I could live with my parents anymore after being out of the house for so many years, but I do enjoy seeing them when I get the chance. I'm really looking forward to this Christmas when we are all meeting up to go skiboarding at Stowe. It'll be the first time for all of them on skiboards and I'm hoping they love it as much as I do.

Mahatma, I love your board man, for me it was always about the base graphics. I had that same exact stomp pad. And just for notice if I ever get a chance to ride with you, I have been involved in allout lift line snowball wars.

GOM,
Mahatma's version is much more colorful than the one I posted! ;)

Mahatma,
I just sent you a copy of the Axium Scratch binding ajustment document Spruce had posted for previous model years on the website. Check your forward pressure adjustment since the sole length on your new boots may be shorter than the old boots.

Hey guys, just to update - my bindings work again. I took them to work, whined like a 14 year old pom pom girl who just broke a nail to the senior tech and by the end of the day he handed me back my stuff saying they were all bette. All I could see - and this is superficial - is that he clearly cleaned and lubed both the from coupler and the rear rail. Again, not sure at all what went on back there but I'm all smiles.

Good looking family there Vannon. Glad everything worked out on the bindings side of the house. Looking forward to using those 120s in January.
Did you get the money I sent yet? I sure hope so, b/c I'm getting nervous.

no big deal at all. I just wanted to make sure it made it to you so you didn't think I was a rotten scoundrel. And yes, I just used the term "rotten scoundrel" and I'm totally ok with it.
Sorry for the thread hijack. Back to the topic...

No, no. 100% my fault. I should have dropped you a PM. I get so flaky this time of year. Single track mind. I'll be back to my old, reliable self come June.
