I'd like to hear a comparison of the two boards. I've never read a bad review of either. But for those of you that have both boards, which do you prefer?
Sempai,
Valmorel has both and based on his previous posts that you may want to search, he refers to his "fabulous" ALPs and his "go to 120s". Hopefully he provides details in response to your question.
I have both the original softer Alp 110 and the Spruce 120 , (Valmorel also has the same boards.. and I am interested in his report as well .. he is up in the Swiss ALPs right now riding ,so it might be awhile ... lucky guy ) the current ALP is stiffer then mine and I haven't ridden it yet
anyways ,both are nice , and the ALP feels for all the world like a shorter , somewhat wider version of the 120 , I had a nice opportunity over the last few weekends to ride both with the new Spruce pro prime risers... generally I prefer the 120 because it is a bit more stable in high speed turns on firm snow because of its length and a little quicker edge to edge because it is a fraction narrower ,, and has more fore and aft stability in soft snow . the Spruce 120 gives up very little to the 110 in manuverability . I was kind of suprised at how manuverable the 120 feels riding the 110 and 120 back to back . . so for me the 120 wins.. if I want a shorter board.. I kind of prefer the KTP to the 110 alp because it is so different and hyper manuverable and yet almost as stable as the ALP ,
if you like non releasables and the lightweight feel of a non release set up with a skiboard , then the 110 alp with a non releaser is wonderful and gives you almost the stability of the 120 but with the ability to use a non releaser..
