Just picked this up from the webcam in Hinterglemm. This is the floodlit ski area, right down at village level. You can see the park off to the right of the screen. You can literally stand in the bar at the bottom with a fat drink watching the young heroes practising jumps. Lights stay on till 9.00pm. Its covered by the normal lift pass. Only problem is, it gets bloody cold :-)

is the clown in the bottom from cirque du soliel? It kind of looks like it but then again it doesn't seem obscure enough.

pretty much eveyr resort in PA has night skiing.....i pretty much skied everyday at night lol
Well Val, when you come up for the Tahoe Shred fest in February , if you haven't had enough riding during the day ,, Wendell and I will run you up to our local night hill ,Boreal is open to 900pm every night and will be a short 15min drive or so from our condo... Wendell and I will get hot stiff drinks at the bar and watch you from the warmth of the lodge :)!
Good place for you to practice some night park moves... I think we need one of the members of " Dad's Army" to become a park rat .. I vote for you !

I am going to do my night skiing fron 10pm-2am after I get the boots I ordered from mark. The park is going to kick so much ass after dark.
I do have to admit that I would like to do night skiing at least once in my life though...
Hey Pinkkid , here is another little vid that gives you some of the vibe of Boreal at night .. this is of a mom filming her teen daughter and friend snowboarding ... kind of high quality fam video ..

There is something a bit special about floodlit skiing. Kinda like you are beating the system or something.

Ok, in Hinterglemm, that coffee would come in a china mug, would have several inches of cream on top, and would probably be hiding a rum inside. Would only cost you $20! Thats EACH!

I was talking to an older man on the lift the other day and he said this, "I can't wait to go night skiing. There is something magical about the lights. They make it seem like you have the mountain all to yourself but in all reality there are really hundreds of other people there."
This is the wisest thing I have ever heard from the mouth of something on a lift.

SOMETHING on a lift? Where were you skiing, Roswell?

No skiing in Roswell, too flat and warm. Closest mountain is Ski Apache in Ruidoso, probably around 2 hour drive. It's a lot more likely that you'd run into a Texan than an alien, and even more likely to have a Texan run into you, heh. ;)

The best thing about riding Giants Ridge at night is most tourists start to clear out - more room for people who actually know how to ride / less chairlifts stopping because people can't get on/off of them.
