I'm a little bigger then you, but not much. I ride release and non-release. The only boards I ride non-release on though are my 103cm Rumspringa Rockets, otherwise when I ride either my 105 EMP's or Spruce 120's I ride the releaseables. Being our height and size I just feel more confortable with releasables. It's more of a safty thing then a necessary thing with 105cm boards, but the longer boards you go, the higher risk of injury with non-release bindings.
I'd recommend the Spruce release system as it's top notch quality and I have had no issues with them. Especially since, at your size, you won't probably be getting smaller so, for me, the safer the better.

Using the brilliant Spruce release system makes it easy (cheaper) to upgrade to Longboards in the future. Worth a thought?

Release all the way..... :D I have never used releasables, but I am so very happy with my non release that I feel no need to pop out of my bindings. No injuries ever either.

Non-release equals a solid feel with your boards.:D
