wow looks like they are doing a good job over there this year.

ehh, it was okay. The third table was really sketchy, there were only about 5 of us actually hitting it. I never did clear the thing. Now more about the sketch... the problem was that when they built the jump they didn't flatten out the roll over to the landing area, I landed on a raised up bump 3 times thowing my helmet close to 15 head twice because I never buckle it and then I did. The best element of the day was the up box. I threw a few really nice smooth slides up and over that thing, really well done on the rail garden though.

I now ride alone so there will be little or no footy for the rest of the season. I did pull a pretty sketchy 270 off...what claim?

I wish I had a park around me that had half the features. Most of the parks around here aren't anything to brag about. The mountains, they're awesome, the park staff are just lazy.

I got pretty busted up in the park today. No major injuries, did black out for a second when I hit my chin on my knee, and my hand got so cold that I couldn't move it and when I could I cracked the skin on my index finger. Today was one of the worst days that park has seen this season. About killed myself on the last table or stepup whatever it was...rails were okay but couldn't hold the speed enough to make it look good and it was pointless to try the up box unless you bombed it from the top of the hill.

Here is a slide show of two runs I did today with my new boots. As you can see, my form is much improved over what it was before.

GOM,

Hey, you made that park look great. I mean it does look like a very nice terrain park but you really did it justice. Talk to the resort - they might like it enough to give you some work. You are living up to your name - good for you. I liked the sort of liquid metal effect on your stills. Nice. There was another boarder in one of those pics. Who was that? I had to laugh at the one where you were against the fall line pointing towards the trees. I was shouting at you to keep your shoulders pointed down the fall line. Ha ha.

*First video was made by the resort...sorry if you thought I did the video*

haha, that wasn't the park...my dad isn't allowed to even walk on the snow so we couldn't get any pics of my trix...haha. But yeah, the one pic you mentioned "Where you were against the fall line pointing towards the trees." Well the story behind that was that I was working ground tricks and grinds all day today and yesterday so I wanted a few shots of me doing different variations of ground spins. That one was a one footed nose butter. I failed on it but I did it really well the run before that one and I wanted to get evidence of it.

There were a few schools there today so I didn't know any of them. I did refer on person here though so someone may show up.

I meant the title and then no riding footy. You said the park you destroyed not the park that destroyed you I thought I was going to see some action.

I am waiting to see if they upload any pics of me on their website...but it is unlikely, the park crew thinks that skiboards have no place on the mountain. If you want to see how big I was going (and crashing) I can upload a pic of my chin...I smashed it so hard on my knee that instead of bruising, is split open and started bleeding...you may have issues seeing it through my awesome beard though, and that's no claim, it is amazing. It is a small spot but you have to hit pretty hard to get it to bleed instead of bruise.

I think I might have actually chipped it, and screwed up my jaw surgery...I now have minimal hearing out of my left ear again. LOL

That park looks nice for the midwest. I haven't gotten decent riding in for quite a while. It was -18 this morning in my home town (where I ride) and thats without the wind chill.

DennisEvans
01-26-2009, 08:29 PM
ahhh, that sucks, if you want you can come ride that park with me tomorrow, we are getting a fresh 4 inches, lol. I just wish the snow wasn't so slow that everybody had to pass up the last table / stepup, what ever it is...those things are pretty big for anything I have ever hit there before.

I'd like to ride that park but it's too far of a trip. Hopefully the weather will be better this weekend and I'll get some shred time in before Jay. Don't let that park break you before the big trip.

I'll be out there with you GOM if you pay for my plane ticket. :D And my lift ticket... And whatever other tickets that we might run across.

Even if I'm broken, I am still going. I am holding all the big trick practice for powder. I hope to try a front flip and a misty (I think) while at Jay.

I've tried a front flip like three different times, hurt myself pretty bad every time... You really want powder.

DennisEvans
01-26-2009, 08:51 PM
I can front flip off of anything over 3.5 feet. I tried to superman off of my truck's bed into a foot of snow and was happy it was there, I landed sitting down, could have hurt pretty bad. But I haven't gotten a chance to try a flip into soft snow this year so this should be interesting. By the way, a misty is front with a 180 right?

EmptiMind
01-26-2009, 08:53 PM
Well, you're doing much better than me then. But you also have that full-face helmet. I'd probably try it a lot more if I knew I wasn't going to break my nose. I'll never get one of those helmets though. :P

DennisEvans
01-26-2009, 08:56 PM
Oh, no...I think I was unclear, I do the flips in snow boots, not ski boots, and haven't tried any with boards on yet. I can't even get spins down. I can't even land a solid 180 yet, but I don't think I am going big enough on them.

Courtney

Sticking new tricks comes down to comfort a lot. If you're feeling sketchy about a set up or the conditions you'll probably find it harder to commit 100% to the trick.

EmptiMind
01-26-2009, 09:01 PM
Oh lol, at least you're practicing. I can do running front flips, but I've never tried to do one off a ledge. Can do back flips from about 2 feet up though.

By solid 180 do you mean one that looks stylish and easy or you can't get the rotation right? Cause, I have basically no style, and that's really what I need to work on.

Oh yeah, for sure. You're absolutely right about that Courtney.

I was out yesterday, and the conditions were crap. I'm limping today. Hah!

I feel sketchy 100 percent of the time at brandywine's park. It's not that they are bad, but I am always adjusting to something new. Usually has to do a bit with the park speed, the other times it has to do with new equipment. Still adjusting to my new boots but right now I feel that I can go much bigger than I could in my other boots, I almost always land but the fall comes about 3 to 4 feet after the landing when I am trying to get back into a good position, I don't even feel the landings in my new boots, the active flex boards are to thank for that.

Hey GOM was it icy that day? From the looks of your slideshow it looked like an icepit.

DennisEvans
02-02-2009, 10:34 PM
Yes it was...last thursday was absolutely amazing for them though, over a foot of powder that just felt so amazing, I can only describe it as feeling like riding on a clowd.

land anything big yet?

DennisEvans
02-11-2009, 12:06 PM
Nothing big yet, and looks like not this season at all, the snow is all melting and when it cools back down all of this rain will turn to ice and we will have a really shitty park again.
