2. Greco (USA - Milan Malpensa, Feb 12th - AM - time coming soon)
3. Mimi Greco (USA - same as Greco)
4. Ben Wannamaker (Canada)
5. Tommy Laker (UK - Milan Linate Feb 11th - Sleep in airport - Transfer to Mtn Feb 12th AM)
6. Martins M. (Latvia)
7. Oskars Stucis (Latvia)
8. Scott Palmer (UK)
9. Luca Dondio (Italy)
10. Andrea Zanon (Italy)
11. Guillaume Chaude (France)
12. Janis M* (Snowboarder - With Martins)

Greco your a legend, the bus thing 7am, i think i will email them or phone them. taxi was going to cost 80 GBP each way per person so decided that was a bad idea. the other option was a train. but the only thing is i think im going to have to get a taxi back because my plane is 7am in the morning on the saturday back to england. which is shit. but there were no later planes unless you wanted to pay stupid money. i will wait to see what other people are doing though.

Greco
01-10-2005, 09:53 AM
i replied back to them asking about options if we arrive later than 1340. i'm waiting for a reply.

also i found that it looks like there is a train from milan to brescia then to the mtn but i don't know it's schedule.

g

tommy
01-10-2005, 09:55 AM
yeh and theres a few trains through out the day from milan to trento then from trento to marilleva.

allz
01-10-2005, 09:57 AM
we-latvians... will be there in 12th about at 5PM ! in marilleva!

leaving in 11th 3pm from Riga, will be in midnight in Warzsawa, then got to motorways in Germany, then faaaast to Italy Alps, to Marilleva, so, all drive will be some 26 hours ! ;)

hey, Tommy, i think you should think about that in Italy then, maybe there will be posibility my bro could catch you down to Milan by car, but i dunno, will see...!!

Greco
01-10-2005, 10:00 AM
how far is madonna from marivella?

allz
01-10-2005, 10:01 AM
hey G, so ...in list are all who ride skiboards ??? Your wife ride skiboards too?

if not, then in list should be my brother snowboarder (Janis M );)
just if we want to know all specifications!

McShane
01-10-2005, 10:03 AM
Marco! can you post exact address of Marilleva1400 or other one can find on the map? We'll need it to plan the road-trip on viamichelin.com. Thanks

tommy
01-10-2005, 10:46 AM
1. about the bus check this link http://www.campiglio.net/ing/pagine_campiglio/home.html?PHPSESSID=599980a60114fddea32a7c2b23418b 27

2. marilleva to maddona vice versa

and map of the area here

allz
01-10-2005, 10:52 AM
Greco, and all others...:

http://www.viamichelin.com

this is the best thing! u will be able to see all what you need!

G, Marilleva 1400 to MDC is some 37km!

marcolo86
01-10-2005, 02:49 PM
Yes it's around 30-35 km by car, but skiing it will take 1 1/2 hours from the far bottom of Marilleva to the far top of MDC where the park is located.

Marilleva is very small, so the exact locatin of the residence doesn't really matter. As soon as you get to Marilleva 1400 you will find signs which direct you to the appropriate residence.

Greco
01-11-2005, 08:17 AM
here is what the tourism people said when i asked them what are options are if we miss the buss at 1340 to mdc:

Train to Trento and then bus to Madonna di Campiglio....
more info at:
www.trenitalia.it for trains
www.ttspa.it for buses

allz
01-11-2005, 01:45 PM
so no more from MIX ???

tommy
01-11-2005, 01:47 PM
http://forum.quick-web.com/forum.php?login=equipesudskiboard

theres 2 people on there you might want to add.

im sure there was more people going hmmmm

marcolo86
01-11-2005, 01:55 PM
Tommy all of those people seem to be on Greco's list!:p

We're over 10 confirmed, that's pretty good to be a contest located in Europe. And there's a month left, I'm talking to more Italians and I believe other Europeans/Americans might come.

Dylan
01-11-2005, 05:21 PM
Can someone post some details for this event. Who it's open to? Dates? Locations? Lodging info? Other costs? I may be able to talk my wife into a long weekend skiing in the Alps. Airfare looks pretty reasonable. I got that it starts on 2/12 and the place to fly to is Milan, but the rest is a mystery

marcolo86
01-12-2005, 05:24 AM
Open to anyone, actual contest 17th + 18th Feb but we're gonna be riding from 13th to 19th aprox. Location: Contest in Madonna Di Campiglio (Trentino), lodging in Madonna di Campiglio/Marilleva 1400.

Lodging info you better get from some of the guys here who are taking care of it. Other costs will involve normal cost associated to a vacation on the slopes (basically Food and Pass.)

McShane
01-13-2005, 04:45 AM
i guess Dylan might be not interested (if travelling with the wife), maybe someone else...
we (me, Allz, hes bro) have 4+1 appartment, bet we are currently 3 guys in for it. we are looking for a 4th person to join us for the road trip from latvia, still we will have 1 (or 2) spare beds to crash.
anybody?

tommy
01-13-2005, 05:04 AM
oskars your be needing those beds lol. honestly!!!

McShane
01-13-2005, 10:08 AM
man, you make me think of too many options, the reason why.... :D

allz
01-14-2005, 09:15 AM
so ,Marco, u know this place better!

where could we meet up all? or, how it will happen?

just we need to know where will be the place, where we will meet up all together!

what ya all think?

here is map of Marilleva 1400! :

marcolo86
01-14-2005, 09:23 AM
I think our best option would be to meet up in fronto of the main lift called "COPAI-PANCIANA", at the entrance. It's the one which goes from Marilleva 1400 to half-way up the main mountain. We'll talk about this later when the time is closer.

allz
01-14-2005, 09:24 AM
thats right, i think some week BEFORE we are goin away from home to Italy!!! ok! so, let this be talked later ;)

allz
01-22-2005, 05:48 AM
i know its not important, but till this time we said: first event in Europe and so on, but we all know - that is not first ever event or contest!!!

about some event (http://www.ifyouski.com/news/newsarticle/?ObjectID=508515)

here you can see that there was some events, and not the smallest ones!

and some inf. could be found here too :

FrontSide web page (http://www.frontsideincfilms.com/news/sportnews.html)

marcolo86
01-22-2005, 05:53 AM
We never said it's the first event in Europe, but it's definitely the first in Italy.

From the official contest site:

" L'Equipe Sud Skiboard organise le premier contest de skiboard européen dans les alpes depuis 5ans !"

Which means first European Alps contest after 5 years.

But interesting info, thanks allz.

allz
01-22-2005, 06:02 AM
yup, its ok, i just wanted to give this information !

in fronside web i am now reading interview with Boomer, ok, its sooo old inf. but still, its interesting! ;)

McShane
01-22-2005, 09:11 AM
can anybody tell anything about the names in that contest?

tommy
01-27-2005, 07:44 AM
ok i think its time we start sorting stuff out its only 2 weeks now, perhaps we sort it out when everyone gets back from creek. but like whens everyone getting there n stuff, i know we cant get into our chalets till 3pm but i will be there about 12pm, let me know people!!!

marcolo86
01-27-2005, 08:08 AM
I'm driving from Rome, so I'll get there in the late afternoon, surely before dinner if no unexpected problems arise.

allz
01-27-2005, 08:35 AM
we - latvians are driving from Riga.. 2pm, in 11th february, and will be in Marilleva - hopefuly in 12th february 5pm!!!

so, just move in our rooms and so!

hey, Marco, in those residences, are there any spoons, forks and dishes on place...we dont need to take own?

and
@Ben, then where you will live? in Toms or my residence?

and, just want to sort out who will be in who rooms! u know i am talking about Tommy and me !

martins

marcolo86
01-27-2005, 08:43 AM
Yes the residences have all you need. You will probably have to pay some 10€ for bed and bathroom stuff. (Blankets, towels etc.) All the rest is included. My advice would be to buy plastic plates, cups, cutlery and stuff like that cause you might not have a dishwasher.

allz
01-27-2005, 08:50 AM
thanks for advises..;) !
because food=energy=good riding=all week fun :D

marcolo86
01-28-2005, 04:16 PM
Dylan are you gonna make it over?

Kelli
01-28-2005, 04:21 PM
what happend with washing dishes by hand?

marcolo86
01-28-2005, 04:27 PM
Kelli just sent me a PM saying she will gladly join us to clean all apartment dishes. She will also take care of fixing the beds, cooking dinner and getting the bathtub filled with hot water and bubbles for when riders come home from a busy day of intense riding.

Thankyou Kelli on behalf of everyone.

tommy
01-28-2005, 05:11 PM
kellis a housewife a classic one at that! no seriously, i want a candle lit bath, pasta everynight, and i want a bed time story read to me. :) anyway lynam are you coming?

Kelli
01-29-2005, 04:33 AM
whatever, you guys paying for me to come.

allz
01-30-2005, 04:24 AM
hey Marco, we must get some discounts for skipass...just we will be more than 10 who will buy ticket, so, we could get some % off that BIG cost for skiin pass!!!

like - group discounts or sumtin!

allz
01-31-2005, 10:09 AM
Marco, so, dont ya found info about discounts...maybe there are no discounts??

marcolo86
01-31-2005, 10:13 AM
Sorry guys, we're not enough people for discounts...

This is from the MDC website:

"Groups of at least 25 persons will receive a minimum discount of 3% on the MADONNA DI CAMPIGLIO skipass (not available during the Christmas period). The head of the group must purchase all the skipasses for the group at the same time and provide a list of all its members on the letterhead of the relevant company or organisation. For ski-passes with validity exceeding 7 days are ordered, the relevant photographs must be attached to the list. The head of the group will be issued a free skipass of the type purchased by the group. Improvised groups that are casually formed and not organised beforehand are not eligible. Children receiving a free skipass are not considered members of the group. This discount excludes all other discounts."

Greco
01-31-2005, 11:25 AM
that's pretty much the worst group policy i've ever seen

marcolo86
01-31-2005, 11:27 AM
As I quite often say... Welcome to Italy...

tommy
01-31-2005, 01:50 PM
yeh right, 3%, gid damn them, thats like 5 GBP off hahaha well worth it.

McShane
01-31-2005, 03:35 PM
is 22 still a child?

eh, what a bout ISIC's? are they of any use (mine is out of date but maybe it's worth getting a new one)?

allz
02-01-2005, 01:31 AM
yes, right, maybe Italy is thinking about students, maybe with ISIC we could get some BIG 2%, or even 4% wowawiiwaa:D

shiiit, man, thats a crap, then we just need to talk to the chef, and ask some 15%off, or some 10%off..

McShane
02-04-2005, 03:37 AM
i guess it is now about the time to get things sorted out and arrange ourselves.

so, me, Allz, hes bro and another guy (snowboarder) are arriving on Saturday afternoon, fivish-sevenish.
Others?
Should we set a spot and time to meet up with everyone?
Random ideas for entertainment? ;)

allz
02-04-2005, 03:48 AM
we must there somewhere, even for reason that some of riders have no rooms to stay in, so, arange that thing will be the first thing!!!

@Ben, so, we need inf. from you,

and others who have no place to stay at!!!!

tommy
02-04-2005, 04:07 AM
yes it deffinatly needs sorting now, were like a week away. im arriving on saturday about 12.........hopefully hahaha  and its just me and my mate staying my place, so we have like 2 spare places who ever wants to double bed it up. so basically no1, is riding on saturday and everyones riding on sunday. i need to sort something out about my plane though. ive kind of fucked up the times about going back to england

McShane
02-04-2005, 04:42 AM
will you miss england? :p

let's make it like 19:30/7:30pm (local time) at a certain place. could it be lift ticket office (i assume this should be clear of people at that time)? until that everyone can do whatever they want/have to (ride, check-in at lodging, shop, just chill, etc.).

or if everyone, besides us, arrives around noon, then set up another timing and sort everything out before we get there later the day.

anyways, my cell is 00 371 920 4556 and it will be on all the time

what about lodging? can we make clear how many and how spacy apartments we have? and wether they are located nearby (same building or same country)?

marcolo86
02-04-2005, 05:50 AM
I'm leaving my cell too, in case you need anything it'll be on all the time.

3474462580

I say we all meet at one of the residence's reception, make it the Marilleva 1400 residence if you want. I'm not absolutely sure on the time, but I'll probably make it by 19.30 as you say.

btw, are greco and ben the only ones from america?

OK, about insurance. i found out the 2e/day (minimum 20e) insurance offered by www.24hassistance.com at MDC. Marco- would you suggest it or should i better find something else (i haven't learned too much about this particular one, but it would save a lot of trouble now if i can insure at the skipass shop)?

onother thing i got a little confused: is marilleva within MDC ski area? in essence, would the MDC ski pass be good at marilleva or do we have to buy the superskirama dolomiti pass?

cheers! o.

marcolo86
02-07-2005, 12:24 PM
I don't know what the insurance offers or how these work compared to the US...I never got insurance to ride, I obviosuly can't tell you to not get it if you feel safer with it...but it's not like they're gonna leave you on the slopes if you get hurt.

We will need to get the Superskirama Skipass, which includes 3 connected resorts (Marilleva, MDC, Folgarida) and other close resorts which we probably won't go to anyways...

tommy
02-07-2005, 05:01 PM
