I was thinking of picking up a used pair of MNPs and was just wondering if anyone has ridden all of them? If you've been on more than one pair which ones did you like the best and why?

I have the 00-01 pair.
not too impressed when comparing them to BWP's.

Now, they needed a little edge tuning, one edge was really sharp and was catching all the time. I found them easy to get on edge and could hold a turn pretty well at decent speeds, but then I found that my BWP's were dull, so that area was negated.
Also it seemed hard to do ground spins because they have a thinner waist; they get up on edge during the spin and throw you off balance.
They aren't bad if you want to add to your collection, or as a pair of urban or beater boards. But they will never be my preferred boards.

I had 1999-2000s and 2000-2001s.....and they were super skinny and narrow and didn't have much of a sidecut to them. They are completely different than the boards made today. I would compare them to the rumspringas, but without a sidecut. They also seem really stiff and just not as fun to ride as my r8s.

Well, I just got back from riding them tonight.
They have gained a little respect, riding fakie and doing spins is still difficult. But they do like holding and edge pretty well. Mostly because they are pretty much brand new.
They ride more like short skis instead of skiboards. I definitely miss the blunt tips that R8 boards have.

Interesting...thanks for the replies. I think I'll skip getting a pair of them then and just save for the BWPs instead.

Only thing I really miss about the old Line boards is their stiffness. I'm very much in favor of a stiffer board.

MNP's are my fav board out of the ones i have ridden.. They are stiff which i love (which is probably why i went through more M7 boards than MNP's) Mind you i haven't rode any of the newer wider + longer boards but i don't know if i would ever part with my sparkle boards for a wider pair.

I still have my 00-01 MNPs but I havent been on them since I got my marauders. They carved really well and like the grooms and yes they are stiff but not very damp so in mixed conditions I found them chattering a lot. But I like hitting the trees and the pow to. Might just hang them on my soon to be wall of retired snow gear.

It's surprising that those old times MNP's lost lot of respect due to their careless business marketing for the skiboarding population. Eventhough their products suck now days, I still think those old made Mike Nick Pro's are the one of the best skiboards exist if you have pair of them. Ground tricks, and airs are no problems with those, I do not rail much but I sometimes hear good things about them. Yes compare to revel8s they are slimmer in width, however you gotta realize people are more used to revel8's nowdays then the old mnp's. BUT, goto youtube, and type in Mike Nick Pro, or type in skiboard history, and see some of these old timers such as MNP, launching in 20 foot jumps or more and landing without a problem. Just because MNP's are slimmer in width does not mean it is bad in the air, or bad in ground tricks. Just my opinion..

If anyone is interested, the "other guys" got their hands on a pair of new old stock MNPs I think they are asking to much.
