Sometimes. What I listen to depends on my mood. I use a Creative MuVo2 4GB player.

Some of what I listen to:
Dream Theater
Disturbed
Joe Satriani
Trance Mixes (Tiesto is good)
Green Day
U2

Did it for the first time last weekend. Doubt Ill ever ride again without music, it just enhances the experience so much!

Last weekend, I had some tracks from the soundtrack from "Return of the king", Gipsy Kings, Tanya Stephens and some local hip-hop.

i have to agree with courts soundtrack the most but ur missing a few bands...
killswitch engage, fear factory, static x, korn (did u already say korn i didnt pay that close attention) slipknot anything heavy metal works BEST cuz it gives it motivation feeling. thats why i kept taking out my cd player today cuz i kept changing it back to atreyu right side of the bed, the crimson, and bleeding mascara. good shit

i tend to like being aware whats going on around on the slope, so i do not carry a player with me. but i don't mind (rather prefer) music on the slope's speakers...
anything but dance, techno, hip-hop. would prefer punk, surfer-rock, and the kind

It's all about the music. Music puts me in the mode I ride. Listening to chill music like Biggy or Pac let me flow nice and pull smooth sh*t. When I go big Slipknot, Necro. Ill Bill or Cage is what I listen to. Music is everything.

I have to agree that I don't very often like to have a player on me for fear of breaking it, but if I could chose what the park was playing, it would be a nice mix of some ska (the toasters, streetlight manifesto, mad caddies, VGS, etc.), some old school punk (the clash, the ramones), some new school punk (Alkaline Trio, Anti-Flag, bouncing souls), and maybe some Atmosphere thrown in. He's just about the only type of hip-hop or rap that I like.

Atreyu, Bayside, Saves the Day, AFI, Coheed and Cambria, New Found Glory, Sum 41, Taking Back Sunday, Tool, System of a Down, Crossfade, Seether, Stonesour, Breaking Benjamins, are usually streaming with me. If anyone has a chance, check out this upcoming local (to me) band. They are called Left Unsaid. www.leftunsaid.com

i dont have any sleeve for my i-pod. i just keep the screen of it turned tward me and the silver part away. i have fallen with it and it has never broken. and as for keeping the snow out of it, just keep it in your jacket pocket (not your pants cuz you dont wanna chance falling on a rail with it against your leg) and put it on shuffel or make a special playlist or sumthin of all the songs you like riding to. thats what i did.

Thats why I bought a cheap RCA lyra just for riding. It's inexpensive, super small and holds enough music for a day and a boat load if you add a flash card. Throw it in your jacket pocket and go with no worries.

I find the music great while doing some mellow ( or hardcore ) cruising but find it to be a bit of a distraction in the terrain park.

I have my music player with me everywhere I go (it's built into my cellphone), but on the slopes, I listen to it on the lifts, not when riding. My choice in music is hard rock/metal, then some classic rock stuff.

I first took music on the slopes a couple years ago and I'll never go without it again... if I can help it.

Depending on what kind of riding I'm doing my playist can range anywhere from Zero 7 to The Strokes to Rage Against the Machine.

Whenever there's a vote it goes back to the top. I'm going to guess someone saw the other Music post, did a search, and voted.

Early season I threw a huge 540 tail off of a big ol roller, and my mp3 just shot out of my pocket, down the hill, and off the side of the trail into the woods, so I was SOL on that....

I now ride in silence lol.
