I tried Race Paste today and I was pretty impressed with the ride. Temps were mid to high teens with a hard pack base. I was out for only two hours but it felt like the wax held better than the hot wax I usually get. Has anyone tried other brands of rub/spray on wax? Any Recommendations for rub/spray on waxes? Any problems? Any alternatives to wax all together?

I used Race Paste again today and the performance was still pretty good. I need to get my boards waxed again though, but I was happy with it. I need to get an iron and start doing it myself. I'll try the Paste after the wax. From the directions I had it said to scrape the wax off before applying.

I used a rub on on top of my regular hotwax a few weekends ago and it totally slowed me down in the powder... Good thing the rub on stuff only lasts for a few runs...

Have any of you guys tried the Swix powdered hot wax? I generally use their yellow all temp stuff and am about to try the HF10 yellow, but I always get the bar of wax and their website references a powdered wax for "competition and racing" Sounds interesting.... Is this the same stuff that is used in fricition waxing machines?

not sure about it being powder but if its for racing i wouldnt use it. racing waxes arent meant to stay on all day. racers need fast wax for a short run, so thats what it is.

Watched a slalom race this weekend. The racers were coming up the lift carrying their skis, then sliding down to the start point in their boots so as not to disturb their wax jobs. Tells you all you need to know about race wax!
Hot wax every time for me. Rub on rubs off just as easy. If you must though, I have had best results with swix.
