A few years back I started putting all the SBOL edits on youtube, which worked out well until they started removing the sound because of the music used in some of them. An edit with no sounds just won't cut it so I just finished converting them all and setting up a new video player hosted by us so there is no chance of anything ever happening to these. There are 31 edits ready to be viewed dating back to March 2004, including the never before seen Shredfest I 2009 slideshow edit of Kirk and Ben. Enjoy!

I'm afraid the faux-video slideshow, while cool on the rails, gave me a headache when you were shooting ben or kirk moving through the trees.

Sick 3-d motion effects though kirks

unfortunately the conditions were really wet and snowy and it was a huge battle to keep the video camera's lenses from fogging (don't let the sun fool you, it was only out very briefly) so the only thing usable were the stills shot with the new Canon 40D (http://www.kenrockwell.com/canon/40d/images/40d.jpg) I picked up just before the meetup. (and even with that i had to shoot two lenses since one fogged after the morning session. here is the 2nd lens (http://www.usa.canon.com/app/images/lens/ef70-200_4lu_586x225.jpg)) Thanks to Dave Cox for trying like hell to capture usable video.

having some problems playing the videos from the new sbol video site, only plays about a half a second. I've waited to see about buffering...nothing.

thanks shelley. it was a lot of work, it's much easier to edit video then hundreds of stills into an edit.

Thanks for putting in all the work to get the video player up , G

really nice to see the slide how of Ben and Kirk riding at Shredfest .. I was worried you wouldn't get any footage at all , what with the difficult shooting conditions .. running the stills together really gives sense of the dynamic riding of those two guys .. it was really fun to ride with Ben , Kirk and you and see all you guys in action ... by the way for those who have never seen G ride and shooting with a HUGE video camera in hand riding down steep slopes , through trees and in pretty nasty snow conditions , that is some pretty skilled riding !!! , it was a real shame and unfortunate that none of that vid could be salvaged.... bummer .... but we are all happy that you could put together what you did from the stills ! nice work !

Hey G - Despite how much I hate to complain, I can't get either of the videos to play sound or buffer past about a 1/4 of the way.

anyone/everyone let me know if you have trouble viewing the videos. the only issue i see is they load slowly. if you all confirm this i might need to find a host who can handle streaming video. are they not loading slowly for anyone?

i can let it load for like 15 seconds before i start it and the play bar never catches up with the loaded part.

No sempai, heres what my problem was: I just reformatted for the tenth time in two weeks, and put on Vista 64-bit. Mozilla and Java were both installed, but apparently on Vista, probably because od UAC, Mozilla cant automaticall enable Java, and Vista cant automatically enable Java for Mozilla. So I had to manually enable Java for both of them. I had already enabled Java on Mozilla, and it still wasnt working, so i was like "wtf?" and then I went into java vista-side and saw that it wasnt enable for firefox.

So that was my problem. I have it all working great now,

-G, the download speed wasnt particularly fast, but it wasnt horribly slow either.

i have an HP Vista 32-bit machine and it works great. no complaints at all and i didn't have to enable java on anything, just install it. i did disable a lot of the security features however but i feel i'm a big boy and can defend my own pc.

Sempai - wait until this fall when Win 7 comes out and buy a comp with that OS, ive used and it is great. No complaints about vista really, besides the fact i had to mess with my java settings, this is my 3rd install of vista because I like ultimate 64-bit better.
