Anyone do anything with Photography? I have always been interested in this so I stole my roommates camera and took a few pics tonight and played with the shutter speed a bit. I feel that these are some of the best ones that I took, but I know that I can do better. Anyone got any tips that they can share?

I don't know what you are looking to do but I would say the most basic adjustments you can do are to add and adjustment layer for levels and just change the levels around a bit lower the brights and raise the darks. I would also recommend changing using a hue/saturation adjustment layer and correct the colors manually, personally I don't trust the auto adjust.

are you talking about making adjustments with photoshop or on the camera its self? I have tried to use photoshop but I don't want to take the time to learn it lol.

I was talking about photoshop but there are some basic things you can do with the camera.
Try changing the apature and shutter speed to get better colors and stuff. I don't know of many point and shoot cameras that can do that butI think all dslrs can, you just need to find the manual to find out how to do everything.

I like the SBOL sticker on your vehicle.

lol I was wondering who was gonna notice that!

@GOM Yep I was mostly changing the shutter speed on those pics I'm going to go back out on Tuesday and play with the aperture settings and try and see what that does.

Just a hint, lower f-stop, more light. Higher f-stop, less light.

If it is a Canon point and shoot, and you want to have a little fun, check out CHDK (http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK). You can unlock a few extra settings on the cheaper cannon cameras using it.
