I was pulling a few flips last week and on one attempt I began flipping to early, banged the back of my head on the kicker and flipped unconcious to the ground. I have had some x-ray done only today, as I didn't feel any major unbearable pain so I didn't see it as being quite necessary.
Well big mistake, because it turns out that I fractured my second vertebrae, luckily in a spot where the risk of paralisis is quite limited. I've been VERY LUCKY and if I wasn't wearing a back protector (and a helmet) I'd most probably be writing from a wheelchair.
