This really great website will diagnose your symptoms and help you reach a conclusion on whether or not you have swine flu.

I recommend that everyone take this test, it is very short and well worth your time.

it is, and my numbers were wrong...it was one death...an extremely young child. Come on people, it is a completely treatable flu. We have almost as many cases here in the US as there are in Mexico but the difference is that Mexico is a poor country and their government won't do what they need to do to help their people whereas, as much as I dislike how the US government works, our government seems to like us and they show it by giving out vaccines to communities in the most need...never mind, I take that back anybody that needs a vaccine gets one.

Actually one of my friends is a government contractor, works at Ft Detrick here in Maryland, he works for the health department. He said that swine flu, H1N1, is currently pretty much all hype. In reality, only 7 people have actually died in Mexico. It's just the speed with which it spread that has everyone scared.

Compare the deaths to the seasonal flu...enough said. The one death in the US was a young child who had just come over from Mexico. It is just overhyped because of how quickly it spread, but I suspect it is mostly because it is a form of the flu (very contagious disease) which is different enough from the common strains to easily trace.

What's being said here is that it's a combination of 4 different flu viruses and highly contagious. It can be treated but not immunized against.

From the CDC... "About 36,000 Americans die on average per year from the complications of common flu."

From Wikipedia... "The 2009 flu outbreak in humans that is widely known as "swine flu" is due to a new strain of influenza A virus subtype H1N1 that was produced by reassortment from one strain of human influenza virus, one strain of avian influenza virus, and two separate strains of Swine Influenza Virus."

The swine flu is just the media having a field day making the bored think the world is over. Doomsday sells.

BTW, I have the flu right, but I don't care if its swine, avian, or west nile crocodile...

I had some sickness over the last few days. Should've seen the terrified looks when I coughed.
