Sept should be pretty good... Spring weather with still a bit of snow cover.

Where abouts are you heading to Matt? I'm down in South Eastern Victoria and generally frequent Mt Buller, Mt Baw Baw or Mt Hotham... They're the three closest to me... Falls Creek is a little further out. Then there's Thredbo and Perisher in NSW which might be a bit too far for a day trip. Heh
