it's dependent on your download speed. try hitting play and then pause, let the video buffer about half way or more and then hit play again.

Yeah, I guess riding with a heavy pack of photo gear is basically the cost of promoting the sport and your brands. Of course, you get to write off all of your trips and photo gear as business expenses, so it's not all bad... :D

What about exposing for the snow? Do you just trust the Canon AE, and fix any exposure errors later in lightroom, ACR or whatever? Do you use an incident meter?

Yeah, today's pic looks like Mark is just having a blast! It's making me itchier than most Mondays for some snow!

And GOM, dude, trust your autofocus. It's going to give you a much higher rate of keepers. You're not going to be able to tell if the shot is in focus by just looking through the viewfinder. And if you are relying on the focus confirmation lights, you're relying on your camera's autofocus system anyway- you're just being a hand-powered focus motor. I know that it kind of sucks to only have 3 autofocus points like on your D40, (not a dig- it's an excellent camera) but you can always focus and then recompose the shot.

Yeah I go by sight alone, never use any autofocus features unless I am doing action shots...I found that it is incredibly difficult to get good focus on something moving when you have to focus manually. I'll get some pics up this year, I'm no amateur with a cam, my dad was a professional photographer for a while when he was in the airforce and I got a bunch of teaching growing up.

i love skiing with mark because he is really meticulous about things. He thinks what he is going to do, does a few motions, and then goes and does it just like he planned.

Plus he never really gets mad about anything he bails on....and never claims WOOT!

oh they made their own SBZ skiboard bag as well.
it has straps inside to wrap the skiboards. but they said shorter than 105cm skiboards won't be strapped by two straps.

My advice (I just started them myself, after a summer of inline skating [though, I'm sure that helped]) is to commit. If you're not sure you can make it, and have second thoughts right before you try get on, you're gonna end up bailing.

Haha yea tried my first rail last weekend and man i was so committed and i have no clue what happen but i caught an edge and before i knew it i was on my head and my shin had a nice golf ball bump on it lol. I don't know if I can really explain it. Probably the best way to do it, is just to find a video that you can download of it (I think the Mt. Snow edit is availible to download) and decent video player (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/) you can find them doing a rail or something of the sort, and slow it down and just watch it in slow mo.

thanks jack, guys. i spent a lot of time on these making sure everything was just so. some of the features include:

- 6mm bail arms fused under the toe and heal blocks so there is no flex
- bail arms just wide enough for your boots that don't move too much side to side
- laser etched logos
- 5 anodized colors
- tons of teeth for micro adjusting
- 5mm rubber interface with optional 10mm coming next year for increased carving angles.

i'm open to any suggestions you guys may have for improvement after you put them through their paces.

All of us had a fabulous time .... for me the most important thing about Shredfest is that it showcases the diversity of our sport .. men and women, young to young at heart .. from skilled pros .. to folks just interested in cruising .. to folks interested in riding the steepest and most difficult slopes .. to pow hounds and backcountry types.., . it showcases a sport that although small and very niche like .. has the large diversity of folk that skiing and snowboarding has ... as a group we represented the sport well to everyone who saw us and there was LOT's of interest!
We are a sport that has matured and become a winter sport that represents the whole spectrum and that is very good ...
