My review thus far:
Emailed to ask if they had demos, or other slightly used Summit Marauder 125's. Get a response from Taylor with a long list of options ranging from $125 to $225 with bindings or new for $299. I go with the $150 option as it was a 2009 model and was told not used much, I did this through a phone conversation. Next day Taylor calls me and ask if I was talking 110's and I'm like no, he first kind of blames me and says my email said 110's. To which I just respond the subject line says Summit Marauder 125's, and which point I heard him click and say, ops I messed up. He says the only option I know have is a 2008 model, I ask what shape they are in. He says they been ridden 6-8 days. Okay 6-8 days they should look pretty new still. He says yeah they have a few nicks you know but they are in great shape. He then says the best he can do on some new ones is $250, sounds good but I already told the wife I would be spending $150. He says he will knock off $25, to bring it down to $125. I once again bluntly ask, so are these trashed? No, they are in great shape says Taylor.
So a few days go by and they arrive through UPS. I open the box all happy to get these and when I pull them out I go from happy to very pissed off. These things are trashed.
Here is my email to Taylor 10-17-2009, I received the boards 10-16-2009, then I forwarded it on to Doc on Monday.
Taylor,
I just received the Marauder 125s today- they are not what I was expecting. There are VERY deep gouges in both bases, the laminating is worn off on most edges, and the rear release on the bindings show significant wear (WAY more than 6 to 8 days of use). The cosmetic stuff on the laminating I'm not too worried about, but the binding wear and the deep gouges in the bases lead me to believe the cores of these skis are probably worn out. These look like they were rented to freestyle/pipe riders for an entire season with daily use. I have skied for the past 2 seasons (3 times a week) on my Atomic ETLs and they look a lot better than the skis you sent.
These are not acceptable- I will be returning them to you via UPS on Monday. I guess since you told me you don’t have anything else available in the 125s, there's nothing to trade these for, so I would like a full refund since they are not in the condition I was led to believe they were.
Only thing I can see working out is if you can do something on a new pair with bindings for $200 (as that is already above what I was planning to spend).
Thank you,
Mark Odette
Then I receive this today from Taylor which is what pisses me off:
Mark,
I am sorry I did not look at the skiboards very closely. You are welcome to return them for a full refund. I do not have any other used 125s but please let me know if there is anything else I can do.
Thank you,
Taylor

My first email to Doc 10-19-2009:
I was told to contact you as you are the owner / maker of these boards. I was going to post up on your forum, but I rather not do that as you might not know about this problem and I want to bring it to your attention first. Below you can read what is wrong in my response to Taylor, and to say the least I am very very pissed at Taylor for miss representing these boards. If he would of told me the true condition I would said I'll take the new ones. I wasted time, money to mail these back but I also realize having run businesses that owners/managers do not always know what an employee has done so thus is way my direct contact with you to let you know. I'm going to mail these out around noon time through UPS today 10-19-2009, and hope you take a look at what Taylor sent me claiming these were in great shape with slight nicks that you typically might get from use. So far everyone I have showed these too have said no way that is not what Doc would send out, and also recommended that I contact you as you are a stand up guy.
Please advise me if there is a solution we can come to, or if I should just expect a full refund to my credit card. Feel free to call me about this matter.
Thank you for your help,
Mark Odette
So I forwarded what Taylor wrote me to Doc 10-20-2009 along with this:
Doc,
Please take a look at the skiboards when you receive them back, I believe you will agree this was uncalled for and cost me $15.44 to mail these back when Taylor says he did not even look at them! How do you package a product without looking at it? So I'm out at least $15.44, as I assume I will get a full refund with shipping cost and if I do not that means I am out close to $30 when it is not my fault at all.
As I mentioned having run businesses myself the buck stops with you; the owner. I still hope something good comes out of this debacle There is no way I should be out of the return shipping even. As a business owner you know word of mouth is the best advertisement, obviously Taylor needs some training and understanding in that basic business principle.
I am still awaiting a response from you Doc,
Mark Odette
I then posted on his forum today. Again I am still waiting to here back from the man himself. My brother in-law told me I should post here a review to let other know. I mean I believe Doc will come through with something as this is ridiculous and uncalled for.
Maybe I should of just bought the Revolts, but I was going with something that the brother in-law had that I knew and as we both are close in skill that I too would be happy with...and good deals on Revolts? If Doc does not come through.
Pictures to come in a bit....
I hope this saves someone else the hassle and frustration not to mention the extra cost to return ship which should not be my responsibility. I will also update this post with how this turns out.
