Hey everybody. I'm looking to buy new boots and I've narrowed it down to the Salomon Foil or Rossignol B Squad 90. The Foil has a flex index of 80 and the Rossignol's flex is 90. The Foil has a 100mm last and the Rossignol has a 102 mm last. These are the first boots I will be buying new so I want to spend my money wisely. I have aso tried on both boots and they both feel great.
I 'm asking your advice because I really don't know which to choose. I ride all over the mountain from park, trails, through the trees, etc. I think the Rossignol may be more versatile because of its higher flex but I'm not sure. Let me know what you think!!!

Also, any helmet with audio suggestions would be appreciated.

For the boots, I would try and find a dealer that sells full tilts...I know you have narrowed down your choices but I think that you may benifit from having better boots. Make sure you are getting sized by a certified boot fitter and if the full tilts fit, get them. From what I have seen, full tilts are some of the cheapest high end boots out there.

As for the helmet, look at Bern Helmets

Maybe pick up a baker with the audio package.

The Bern helmets do look solid.

I looked at the full tilt line but I really can't afford to buy a pair at the moment and probably won't be able to to until I get out of school in 8 years.. (undergrad + dental) The Foils and B squad are $250 and I'm not looking to spend much more unless I find a crazy deal

What shoe size/boot size do you wear? Dalbello Kryptons are the 3 piece design with Dalbello's additions to it

He also has 29.5 and 26.5.

Something to pay attention to when buying a baker "helmet" is whether you want a helmet or a hard-hat, as they produce both. Hard hats are good at protecting your head from multiple impacts, like someone would take in a terrain park. Helmets are only good at protecting for one impact, but give much better protection for that impact (would be much more likely to help than a hard hat if hitting a tree or rock at full speed).

I looked at these boots but I think they will be too narrow with a last of 98 mm. It even says in the description "good for people with a narrow foot and low instep" and my foot is somewhat wide and my instep is a little higher than average. I really liked the 80-110 adjustable flex but I don't want my foot to be suffocated.

Also just found the Rossignol Zenith 90 boots for $250.. any suggestions on these boots?

All in all I want a 80-90 (preferably 90) flex and at least a last of 100mm
