Busy in my garage today figuring out how many folks I can outfit for a Shredfest 2 Backcountry adventure ... I figured out I can out fit 6 folks !!

http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l88/jjue/IMG_0852.jpg

2 snowshoes for 2 folks who just want to carry their own boards
1 KTP with climbing skins and touring adapter binding on a snowjam 2 binding
1 Alp with climbing skins and touring adapter binding on a phiokka reactor binding .
1 Spruce 120 with climbing skins and easily adjustable fritschi binding for up to size 11 1/2 or so size din sole ski boot
1 Sherpa 130 with climbing skins and easily adjustable fritschi binding for up to size 11 1/2 or so size din sole ski boot
if you have big feet I can also supply a Summit Marauder 125 instead of one of the Spruce longboards that has an extra long fritschi binding up to size 13 din ski boot ..

I will be on Condors with touring adapter binding on line ff pros and climbing skins

If you have your own 110 or KTP with any non release skiboard binding , you can use my skins ( precut for your size board ) and my touring adapters and use your own boards and bindings

you will need to bring a day pack for food water and clothing and ski poles preferrably collapsible unless you want to skiboard down with ski poles in hand ( poor form ;)!) i recommend three section treking type poles with snow baskets . . besides that you need to bring a sense of adventure and the willingness to go up hill on your own two feet before going down !

we have two backcountry days scheduled for shredfest 2 , hope some folks will want to come along ... as we get closer we will see who wants to go on what days and who wants which of my loaners !

by the way if you have a Condor you are welcome to use the skins and touring adapter binding that I have on the ALP on your condor . the skins will work on the condor as well .
ps . i bought a pair of superwide new skins for my condor and had enough left over to out fit my ktp with skins as well from one pair of skins ... super cool.. this is the very first time i have been able to out fit two pair of boards with one pair of new skins !

Jack ... I might take you up on the snowshoes. Only if no one else takes you up on the offer. I'm going to order Condors and would like to hit at least one of the back country days.

However, I may also just buy my set of shoes. I was already planning on picking up a pair right before shredfest so if someone else wants to tag along that doesn't have funds for shoes, I'll buy my own set.

Thanks for the offer.

On another note. I'm half considering the advanced back country day. You think that would be over my head? I know you said beacon required so I don't want to drop the cash for one if I'm not solid enough for the terrain your thinking of. I trust your judgment so whatever you think (yea or nay) is what I'll do.

If I make it up, I plan on borrowing either Snowshoes or the Condors on the advanced BC day. Unfortunately, I still haven't sorted out if I will make it up there or not.

You will be fine on both backcountry days Robert,
Don't worry about buying a beacon (they are expensive ) ... there are stores in Tahoe that rent beacons. ...

Hey Skafreak , I think you meant borrowing my Fritschi Sherpas rather then my Condors....
You can't have my Condors ( they will be on my feet ) :)!!

I totally didn't re-read your post. I meant Condors, but just skimmed over, saw Condors, and skipped the whole part about you riding them. In that case, yeah, I'll either use Snowshoes and my Sherpas or borrow yours with the touring bindings. Once again, all hinging on whether I will actually make it up there.

Although I've ridden just about every set (or at least type) of boards that I own, I generally stick with a few favorite pairs. All the rest are for loaning to others, so they can try the sport. It's very cool to see that other's have the same idea.

I really wanted to make it out to Shredfest this year, but I'm not going to be able to. I already committed to the Midwest Meet, and I can't do both. Next year though, I'll try to make it happen. I want to take the Condors out for some real backcountry riding.
