They are not bad, particularly as entry level boards for a smaller or lighter rider. At 90cm, they will not give enough float in powder for the vast majority of riders. They are great if you are just going to be cruising groomers. For park use, they aren't as resiliant as some other boards out there, but under light use will hold up for a while. The bindings on them are high quality mid-range bindings.

This depends a lot on your size. I had a friend who was over 6ft 200+ lbs and he rode the older versions of these for a couple seasons. They held up well under the stress he put them through. He rode them pretty hard in the park and he eventually split the base on one of them. Considering the stress they were under they did very well, even better than some more expensive boards he had.

As far as float in powder, if you're small enough you shouldn't have too much trouble with these in moderate powder conditions. I rode 90cm Tanshos in some powder last season and did fine but I'm only about 5'4". It will be more work riding shorter boards in powder but it's not impossible if you're somewhat smaller.

The bindings are on the heavy side but lasted very well. After he broke the boards I used the bindings for several years. After being used by more than 3 riders for 5+ years (and being adjusted a lot), they eventually started to wear out in some of the adjustment slots. Very solid overall.

Sounds like a good idea. You'll probably feel a lot more stable on longer boards. Longer boards will also help you out in powder a lot. At your size, riding any powder on 90s would probably be a lot of work.

I have the previous year's version of those boards, and currently my husband is using them; he really likes them (he is 5'9" 165ish). He did, however, break one of the Extreme II bindings last season, when they were just over a year old. I don't know exactly what he did, but it was icy and it broke when he fell (the board appears to be OK). It sounds like it may have been a fluke, since many others are complimentary of the Extreme IIs. I've been riding Snowjam 75cms with the same bindings and have not had any issues with the bindings myself.

If you get them, you will probably want to put some blue loc-tite on the screws holding the bindings to the boards. Mine came loose very quickly once I got out in the cold. You don't want to be constantly tightening them on the hill.

Sounds like a fluke, so many factors when snapping a binding.

Angle/direction/where you fall/how you fall/imperfections in the metal/weather etc.
