Wow... This was what I'd call a "bad" day at the mountain.

Ok here's what happened today. I went up the mountain as usual, and brought along my Brintons and my old Salomons for rails, which I decided to leave in the car. So I go up and go through a few runs.

First of all, let me say, this was not a good day. It was crowded, and the snow was either Ice (on one chair) and slush on the other one. A lot of snow fell last night so there was a lot of me landing in what looked solid enough but instead planting my foot 2 feet into the side of a hill.

Plus, I MYSELF was having a horrible day. I could hardly land anything, Which made me want to do too much, and I just kept getting worse. And the ice didn't help on the landings. Eventually, off what wasn't even a big kicker, I did SOMETHING to my knee, I don't know what, but I'm still limping. Something twisted in the joint maybe, I don't think it's sprained.

Now one run after doing that, I land a much larger jump that someone had nicely built with a big steep run up down the side of one of the runs. I landed, but I came down with one foot on the back of my binding. For the rest of the run I couldn't figure out why I couldn't turn left properly, until I took off my skiboard.
I bent my binding! It's totally screwed up, I'll post a pic of it later. My X1s have finally let me down... thankfully no damage to the boards, at least.

So I basically spent the rest of the day in ice on crappy salomon 99.9s... strange thing was I stuck everything in the afternoon...I wasn't going that big though, and my knee hurt like a bitch.

So that was my shitty day. That marks the 2nd pair of skis/skiboards I've broken in 4 trips up the mountain (I wrecked one pair of twintips by landing on a rock, but they can be fixed). I'll order some Bombers to replace the X1s when I have the cash I guess... Until then I suppose I'll be mostly twin tip skiing, cuz the snowblades are kinda weak.

Heh...kinda funny that my All metal bindings get wrecked while my crappy salomons are fine...eh, shit happens. I just hope my knee's ok for wednesday when I go again, or it's gonna hurt.

Sounds pretty shitty.. but I can't feel too bad for you, if you're living in Whistler.. haha

Today I'm headin up north to Waterville valley to brave what should be the iciest day of the season. Lots of rain followed by freezing tems, oh yes!

But they are getting flurries now. Oh well! Anything to get on the snow

man that does suck..

i bought x1's last year to fit on my m7's and those bindings are shit... i had that same issue where the binding bent.. easy to fix though. so needless to say.. anyone want to buy a used X1's .. only used half a season.

hope your knee feels better!

I have the SJ Extreme II bindings, and those have been really good for me. Real durable, too, and cheaper than the bombers.

Well, this sucks. I just bought new BGs with X1s too.

I'm still holding out to hear other people's experiences are with the releasable bindings. If I replace the X1s it will be with releasable bindings.

I'll sell you my set of Bombers (with 5mm riser insterts). Let me know if you're intersted. They're in great shape.
