...stays home!

Well, this is kinda depressing. For Christmas, a lot of my family just gave me cash because nobody really knew what to buy me and I honestly didn't even know what I want. A local ski shop runs bus trips every month of the season, and this month (Feb) they're going to Okemo in Vermont. Okemo's got to be one of my favorite hills, so I was really looking forward to it. My boss also switched up my schedule so I have Sundays off instead of Saturdays. That kinda screwed up band practice, but we worked out another day.

So here I am, money to go on the trip, a day off that I don't have to request off so I won't be losing any money. Perfect, right? I called the place yesterday during a smoke break only to find out that the trip is booked solid. There's an ass in every seat on both busses. There goes the rest of my season, pretty much. I've only been out twice this season, I missed out on the Creek trip due to lack of fundage, and now I miss out on going to one of my favorite hills. Yes...I could go hit a few local places before the season's out, but even then, that's only about 5 outings, which is pathetic.

Ugh...Hopefully next season will see me with a little more time and money so I can get out more often.

I feel your pain man. I have only gone once this year and had to keep it mellow. No rails,no jumps, just carving a few runs. Next season is gonna go off for sure though.

How about showing up anyway? With TWO bus loads going, surely someone wont show.

Can't hurt, show up with cash in hand. Worst they can say is no.

You know, that's actually not a bad idea. Just show up with the money and tell them if someone doesn't show up, give me the seat. That sounds sinister enough to work...Airports have been doing it for years. They call it 'standby'. Thanks!
