I can't say enough good things about this forum. All of you here at SBOL have provided SO much good info, I'd be truly lost without this site!

I finally found some boards to rent for my first skiboarding adventure. They are 99cm SnowJams, with releasable bindings (which I prefer, non-releasables scare me a little.) I was really hoping to find 90's, but more importantly, I wanted to find rentals before I bought anything, which I thankfully found. I'm 5'4", 128 lb female who just wants to enjoy the groomers. I am a very confident roller blader, but I just do that for recreation and fitness. I see from the chart on this forum that these boards will work out nicely for my first time. It seems as if it recommends longer boards with releasable binding for my weight, I do not know why...

I'm just looking for a little reassurance from the pros here to put my mind at ease.

So, PLEASE give me any advice/insight that will put my mind at ease so I can enjoy my first time skiboarding in Tahoe!

Thanks a bunch! :D

I'm not an expert but... my first boards ever were 99cm-ish snowblade buzz's. And since the Snowjams are worlds better than snowblades I'd say go for it, they were easy as hell to control and were doing double blacks first night out.

They will be just great. Have a wonderful time in the Tahoe area and enjoy your skiboarding. 99s are loads of fun, really versatile boards.

That is what most people start out on. The SnowJam 99's are skinnier than the other boards sold on here but will give you a good idea of the feel of the sport.
