There was a thread not too long ago that looked at
the philosophical side of skiboarding. I won't lie, at first I thought it sounded like the ramblings of a cult.
But now I understand. Skiboarding is more than just a sport, it helped save my health.
Que the sob story... A few years ago I had a lung collapse and it was pretty serious. Luckily I had a full recovery but I was a smoker and the chances of reoccurances were big. No matter how hard I tried, cold turkey, hypnosis, pills, nicotine replacement, I just couldn't kick the habit.
About two weeks ago I decided I'd leave the rest of my pack at home. I figured that being out might distract me so I could get past the first few hours.
It worked! I'm proud to say that because of skiboarding that after 8 years of smoking a pack a day I'm confident in saying I am no longer a smoker! It really is a great feeling.
Thanks SBOL!
