Slides

Are slides and manuals on the ground a good way to get used to the feeling of doing technical tricks on rails, or is it a totally different feeling? Haven't done much of either, but after watching the video Greco edited and seeing some of the technical stuff in both grinds and slides and decided that I'm gonna start working on some slides for now and then once I can actually grind start trying some of it out on the rails. Just wondering how similar the two are.

not similar at all. practice on boxes first but really nothing will truly prepare you for rails except practicing on rails. pick a low one to start for sure and read other posts here about technique.
