I'm going to be up in the Allentown area that weekend. I used to ski Blue but haven't been there in a few years. I was checking out their website and it looks like they've really spent a lot of money into developing their terrain parks and I started getting excited. I was hoping maybe we could assemble a group from MD/PA/NJ and meet up there that day.

I think I have something going on around noon that day, but I may be able to make it up for the afternoon/evening.

I didn't get into the park when I was up there a couple weeks ago, but it looked like they had a nice variety of stuff set up. As with any of the parks in this area, the conditions are hard to judge. It could be great, or it could be icy and brutal.

do they do group sales? i could probably have 4 guys. (im the only skiboarder though) i know camelback does a great deal for 15 people.

*edit - looks like $42 a person with group at blue

Honestly I'm good with any of the mountains up there. I just picked Blue initially from looking at their website with beginner, intermediate, and advanced terrain parks and it looked like they had spent some time and money into developing their freestyle terrain, plus I hadn't been there in probably 5 years (last time I was there I was on 170s).

Those of you that live up there...what's the best place? I've gone to Blue, Elk, and The Mountain Formerly Known as Montage.

Dude if we could get enough to get a group rate that would be SCHWEEEEEEEEEEET...personally I will likely be flying solo that day since it's not my home hill...I'm just heading out to Blue as something to during the day since my buddy I'm up there to visit doesn't ski and is busy. I checked out the group rates and if we had 15 or more people it would go from $54 for all day to $42...problem is they say to reserve 2 weeks in advance so looks like that's not even an option.

So who all is planning on being at Blue next Saturday? I'm just thinking of how we should plan to meet up and whatnot.

Anybody have a weather forecast? My one buddy that lives in Northampton told me the weekend is supposed to be fine then a buddy that lives in Whitehall told me it's supposed to snow 2 feet. I'm all for snow but I'll be driving up from DC on Friday night then driving back to DC Sunday so I'd rather not get caught in the perfect storm.

On and PS I drive a 5 year old sedan with about 65,000 miles on the tires...so fighting through the snow literally could kill me.

i checked the weather near Blue Mnt and is looks like right now they are calling for 6-8 inches between now and Saturday. That could change though to more or less pretty quickly.

I was at Blue with the wife last weekend. The Mountain wasn't groomed well at all, they weren't making snow and it was icy as it could possibly be. Very bad conditions. My wife actually hurt herself from a very slight fall.

Hopefully this new batch of snow will help that. Could be a moot point though if it gets so bad that I can't get up there...fingers crossed.

If you're planning on going on Saturday send me an e-mail (jonathan.chwirut@gmail.com) and we can figure out when/where to meet up so we can ride together some.

Unfortunately I don't think I'm going to make it. I just talked to my buddy who I am supposed to be staying with and he told me not to bother because even if the highways are ok there's going to be no way his house is accessible because he lives in the middle of nowhere. Anybody else that was gonna go...have fun!

had an awesome day at blue mountain yesterday. the weather was amazing and the mountain was in good shape. all trails were open and no ice at all. the black/double black trails werent all that well groomed, which my friends and I actually preferred given the amount of snow. It turned out to be a lot of fun that way because it was basically a lot like naturally made moguls on a lot of the slopes. The park had a ton of setups, not that I really took much advantage. I mostly just hit some smaller jumps and stuck to the trails, although I did land my first decent sized jump. I dont know the exact measurements but some guy there mentioned he thought it was in the 35 foot range. No grabs or twists or anything but I was just happy to land. Heading to JFBB next weekend. Hopefully they get some snow again this week so that the conditions are as good as yesterday.
