If you can score a brand NEW pair of weapons....I would do it. The grind plate just helps with a nice smooth grind since there is no edge where the plate is.
Where are you scoring the new Five-o's and weapons? Anymore?

Yeah, if your source has a good supply and is looking to sell em off, I'm sure we could help him out, hehe. I'd definately be interested in grabbing some to learn to ride rails on so I don't risk messing up my others.

i dont know skiboards and if these are the kinds but from the names i think they are. ive seen weapons and line five-os at skiboards.com in the outlet section. but the weapons are the 00-01 models and are plastic..

weapons are plastic?

no the weapons arn't plastic, he must have read it wrong on the site. on the site It says there is a plastic insert in the middle, which there is on weapons.
They have weapons for sale on Skiboards.com with ff cam bindings for less then 200 bucks

ARGH!!!!! I wish I had the $$$ to snag a pair of those. I almost bought a pair instead of my 94' canon heritage boards (with the 8 hole pattern)before I knew much about skiboards. I'm still kicking myself for that mistake and just grabbed a pair of canon m7's back in november. Dang, I really really wish I had a pair of those :/

before i knew shit about skiboards, i had a choice between the line mnp's or the salomon buzz 90's. The retail store clerk told me that the line's weren;t good at all and that salomon is better for me consider i like moguls. What a jerk-off.... i wonder how many others got burned from that same guy.

Man that sucks. One thing I have learned over the years man. Never trust what a retail clerk that trys to tell you about skiboarding. I would have tried skiboarding a long time ago if the stupid guys at sport chalet had not told me "You can rent a pair but they are not worth it...They are too short and slow. They are only good if your just learning to ski". So....lesson learned though huh?

so the weapons there at skiboards.com are the ones with the grindplate? and aren't plastic parts bad?

I am not too sure but I think it is kevlar injected plastic(very strong). Even if it's not these boards are solid for sure. I have a pair and I have never had a problem. The plate just replaces the wood core under the middle of your boot. It DOES NOT replace the actual base. They just grind out a small section of the metal edge and base on both sides at like a 45 degree angle. That way if you are sliding and you tilt your board a bit at an angle you will be in the groove and sliding on the plastic. VERY FAST!!! The rest of the boards are made the same as any other its just that one piece. These are great boards.

hmmm... these sound good. i might get them then.. they could help me practice with rails.
i emailed skiboards.com and they said they have 7 weapons and 4 of them have scuff marks that they will be selling for $169 w/ bindings.

Better hurry....they won't last long. But if you dont get those then Greco has other line stuff in. I already have weapons and five-0's so I think a pair of Mike Nick pro's is in my future for sure.

I'm so happy with my 01 model MNP's that I considered getting another pair just in case next season ends up like this one with no equipment out there with the same or better quality than the MNP's. I chose to get the weapons instead as it may be my last chance to snag a pair that aren't beat to death. Hopefully Mix will get their sh!t together or something new will surprise us, but I'm not holding my breath. I wouldn't doubt Canon making a huge comeback though for 06, but at this point we can only hope.

You will like the heritage Jordahl....If you havent seen a pair though you will trip out a bit...The tail looks higher than the nose. But very solid stable boards for sure.

Yeah they seem really light too. Even with the heavy ass summit bindings on them they are still lighter than most boards. I think you'll like them a lot. Super stable.
Jordahl
03-07-2005, 06:22 PM
i got groove bindings. and they're not extremly heavy so i hope they're light. easy to jump onto the rails without jumps here lol.
