I'm thinking of getting some inlines for the summer, since there are now 3 skate parks within a 2 mile radius of my house. I like the aggressive inlines, but have no idea what is good and what isn't. Also, I would like to keep it under $250, if possible.

Any good places to buy them from? Should I look local, or are there better places to buy online?

in the states you have tons of options.

the best would probably be
www.aggressivemall.com they have everything, can offer customiation, etc.

then there's

www.skatepile.com

and last

www.bladinaction.com but I wouldn't recommend it....slow shipping and not too good service from what I heard.

As for models well just about anything those shop sell is good! it all depends on what you like in a skate...but I bet you dont know yet! =P

these are usually what set skates apart from each other

-Flexibility ( hard boot, soft boot)
-Weight (Bulky or Skinny)
-Quality of stock parts (frame,liner,etc.)

Let me (us) know what you think of getting and we'll help you out for sure!

I for one ride Remedyz skates and they're the best I've ever ridden. Salomon are also incredibly good and solide skates for the price.

I'd stay away from K2 and USD if I were you.... K2 because they're bulky and stock parts aren't awesome. and USD because they're not really a beginners skate... hard to explain.

Best bets are
Remedyz
Razors
Salomon
Rollerblade

Razors are sick, i'm looking at some remz this year with xsjudo frames, anyone have any feed back .
but i think stayin away from k2 is a good idea they are huge, and they fall apart. also i'm selling a pair of razor shima 2's with ground control 2nd gen frames with senate liners if anyone is interested let me know.

Are the Cult 4's really wide, like the Solomans? I don't like the wide body on the Solomans, at all. I haven't been able to see any Razors in person.

JW - still have those Shima's for sale?

razors aren't as wide as salomon's widebody thats for sure.
and the Cult4 is the old Razor Shell which is even narrower.

Old razors mold like the Cult 4 are "precision" skates. Narrower soul space and tight fit.

im getting my first pair this year too. Im thinking a pair of razors, under 200, two wheel if poss. but prob. four if that's all they got. Is this a good idea?

rolling is a great idea, doesn't matter which skate you buy =)

right now every major brand has damn good products and you'll most likely be satisfied with any of them as a beginner.

also be sure to pick a lightweight skate...helps beginner skaters. and if possible a flexible skate.

in that case Razors is definately worth looking at. Good luck and let us know what you end up with!

xxjzattaxx :

I would personnaly go for the Salomon...

sturdy skate,
light weight,
extremely comfy
plenty of flex (compared to Rollerblades)
large soul space (good for beginners)
great royale groove (compared to Rollerblades)

alex trs:
i found a little more cash and i am looking at razor cult 4's i have skated a little in the past, and i perfered and antirocker setup better than all 4 on at the same, btw grinding much like grinding on skiboards or a lil diff?

Alex-TRS

same tricks but different feeling..... with time it gets to be quite similar but at first you'll find it harder on skates.

rails are usually much easier on skis/skiboards because theres a kicker leading to it...on skates you have to jump on it. that's the big difference. and skiboards have extra lenght which helps balancing.
