I was wondering if you guys know any ways to remove rust from the edges of boards using household items...ive tried steel wool and it does nothing...let me know if you guys know any secrets to get rid of this annoying rust

try some scotch brite. the stuff works wonders. if you can use the white polishing pads first. the move to rougher stuff if needed.

Make sure you bring a good towel along for afterwards. I've found that a car chamios towel works wonders for drying off my boards. It does a much better job than a bath towel or an old t-shirt.

The best thing you could ever use for rust.....A GUMSTONE....you should be able to get one at your local shop. Its like a stone made out of rubber, wont damage your edges because its soft enough, yet its hard enough to take any and all rust off.

I just take a pocket knife and scrape it off...just did it today before i waxed actually, took all the rust off in about 2 minutes just scraping em.

just use a brillo pad they come in boxes of many, a nice metallic brillo pad is cheap and works

aack! no steel wool no brillo -- you would be sanding down the edges would you not? my old ski trick is tin foil. just fold up a little piece and rub.
