Hey all,

I've been a big Line fan since getting my first pair of Suns back in 97-98. Since then, my collection has greatly expanded. But I have a few gaps I'm looking to fill in:

97-98: Intro or Blank 83, plus FF Pro bindings
99-00: Fly, Cruiser
00-01: Five-O, Bullet, Fly, Ostness Dragon (sorry, I know, not skiboards, but I would love a pair of the Red Dragon's)

I'll take them in any descent condition. You can post here, or e-mail me at Skiboarder4Life@aol.com

I've already got the following boards, but if you have a pair/find a pair in excellent or new condition, e-mail me and I'll make you a good offer.

96-97: Original
97-98: Sun or Art
98-99: MNP, Jedi, Cruiser, Kicker
99-00: MNP, Jedi
00-01: MNP, Weapon

Lates,

Steve

I have a pair of 2000 Flys I'd be willing to sell. Decent condition, minor top sheet damage at most. Can't get pics til the 12th or 13th, but will take some then if you're interested.

Hey, there's a pair of Line Bullets on eBay here:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Line-Bullet-Skiboards_W0QQitemZ320494173893QQcmdZViewItemQQptZ Skiing?hash=item4a9ef0fec5

If you bid on them and don't get them, I have a pair in excellent condition that I may be willing to sell for $125 boards only or $200 with a pair of Line FF Aluminums.

Just curious, have you tried any of the Revel8 boards by chance? I had the same goal as you but kind of gave up shortly after getting my KTPs. All the lines I had tried after that just didn't really measure up so I didn't really see the point anymore. It would still be cool to have all of them but the cost isn't really doable for me either. I would however like to get a pair of the original "Candy Cane" boards, as they've been dubbed, because I like the width on them. I do still have my Suns and bullets though because they are more unique than a lot of the other line boards, at least I think so. Good luck in your search though.

BTW, it'd be cool to see your collection if you ever get a chance to get some pics.

I uploaded a photo of my collection of Line gear. Yes, skis included. I have a few more pair that I've yet to get in the photo, but I'm up to a total of 23 pairs from Line.

Courtney, I'd definately be interested in the fly's. By 2000, do you mean the little yellow head guy (Line stripe base), or the fire clown (Line fire logo on base)? Either way, if you get a chance on the 12 or 13, that would be great. You can e-mail me at masterssd@gmail.com.

Rgzip, I didn't realize you still had those, but I'd like to buy them. Can you e-mail me at masterssd@gmail.com?

Swallowevil, I understand what you mean when the quality of Line's skiboards dropped off. I hope to collect them all through the 00-01 season (the weapons were the last year that really interested me). I started picking up some more of their progressive ski designs (original 1260, Ostness Dragon, Mothership, Prophet 130, Afterbang). But I am kinda pissed that they are owned by K2 now. Oh well. I realize my collection is an expensive habit, but it happens. I remember watching the x-games special on J.Lev and Line way back in 98 (i think it was 98, maybe 97?) Anyways, I had to get a pair of the Suns because skiboarding was awesome, it was a way to be different, not being a stuck up skier and not being a apeman on a snowboard. Being a Line fan helped get through the tough middle school/high school years and kept me dreaming about going pro some day. So much for that.

I do have a better quality photo if you want to e-mail me, masterssd@gmail.com.

OH, and if anyone has an extra copy of the 98-99 Line catalog, that would make my day.

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steve, sorry they're actually the 2001 / 2002 models with the clowns on the tails and the fire logo on the bases.

I actually emailed Jason Levinthal a while back and he sent me out a bunch of old catalogs. I scanned them all in and put them up on a drop.io site. You can check em out here:

If you want the originals I could probably try and dig them out and mail them to you. You seem to be a bigger fan than I ever was and would appreciate them more. Let me know if you're interested, just PM me.

I'm surprised they hadn't burned all of those in attempt to hide their past.. ;)

Pretty cool though. It's good to see riders preserving the sport's history.

Yea he was pretty cool. I was surprised that he even emailed me back so that was a bonus. He did give me the whole spiel about how twin tips are what skiboards have evolved into and that was just a way of getting to where the company is now. In all honesty though I haven't tried skiing in over 15 years probably and when I did then it was on some crappy rentals. But I couldn't see it being better than skiboarding so that's why I've never bothered, that and having to find some twins to try out.

I have a pair of 01 5-0's I'd be willing to part with for little.
But they're in terrible condition. Ie, delams, chipping, and edge missing.

Sure, it was a way for the company to evolve to what it is now, but they started strictly as skiboards. Funny thing is watching the old Line Team Videos, how they just ragged on skiing for being uptight. I have no problem with them going to skis, but I hate how they forget their past. Skiboarding was cooler than skiing. Mike Nick, J.Lev, Mike Wilson, they were all rocking skiboards even though Line was making skis for two years.

I did appreciate how they kept pushing the envelop, even though it eventually drove them into financial ruin and being bought by K2.

Nate, thanks for the offer. I'm looking for something that's in good condition, so if I don't find anything, I'll PM you.

Steve

I have a pair of the 84cm Flys, fire and clown graphics, used 3 times, no park riding, a couple minor topsheet scratches. I might part with them, make me an offer if interested.

Ohhhh, I want those 96's.

Another rider on here has a pair, beastly boards.

Nice. I think I may have to get a pair of those original Mick Nicks, they look like my kind of board. Cool to see them all together like that. Keep us posted on your quest. Oh, and I second the orig 96's. If you ever come across a pair let me know cause I'd be all over them. BTW, are those the original bindings on the 96's? If they are it be cool to see some close ups. I've never gotten a good look at them.

Almost forgot to ask, which ones are your favs to ride?

Those are the original bindings on the '96's. It's a different sized four hole pattern than the other bindings. I originally acquired the boards, figuring that the other bindings would work. To my disappointment, they didn't, so I had to spend a long time tracking down the bindings so I could actually ride them. I've got one close up photo of the bindings, and can take more next time I travel home after school ends.

I know there were a ton made and shipped to Japan, but I've never had any luck trying to browse japanese websites. Then again, I haven't looked in a couple years since getting mine.

And as far as my favorites, I'd have to say probably the Sun 83, with the Jedi 90 and Weapon 94 as runner up. The Suns are such fun boards to ride, a super wide platform, can hold up well all over the mountain. The Jedi's were the first boards that transitioned away from the short and super wide to longer and smaller waist, easier to lay down some awesome carves and hold some good speed. And the weapons are just and awesome rail set up. I used to love slaying those boards with two soul plates (before the soul plates and FF Pros were stolen on my Blank 83).

Crazyboy-1 made a custom plate and the boards work with Bomber bindings, FYI

Wow!!! Amazing looking collection! I do have to say that Line Five-O's and Journey was my intro into skiboarding (I had not yet found this site) and it was an amazing treat going from cheapy's to Line's. since then I have passed my Five-O's to my girlfriend who now is riding Tansho's. They are in pretty decent shape, some scrapes and bruises from my feeble attempts at park riding, but she may be willing to part with them.
