Hello all!

I am registered to do the Tough Mudder Challenge in Vermont July 14th. (along with Dave Bloom)

This is a video of the obstacle course I am doing:

Also this raises money for the Wounded Warrior Project Found here:

http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/

I am raising money directly through the tough mudder event and raising donations. If I raise more than 150$ I also get a discount.

The money will go to help my brothers and sisters in the US military who have had physical/mental injuries when they return home!

If you can please donate that would be a great help and greatly appreciated.

Here is the link for the donation site: https://register.toughmudder.com/fun...aiser=r3799938

Thank you for the support! I am training harder now than I ever have in my life and hoping to do very well!

The Brazen Experience

Just now, we have something new in the world of skiboarding. We have a manufacturer who is prepared to produce 'one off' prototype boards at reasonable cost, Brazen Boards. Brazen Boards is run by Brett Volkenburg in California, and both myself and Fighting For Air have ordered boards to our own designs. My own pair was delivered a few days ago, and they are gorgeous. Those for Fighting For Air are to follow very soon, so how did it all work out?
There are some things to understand about Brazen if you are thinking about ordering boards yourselves. Brett is an artisan builder. That is to say, the boards he produces are not just utilitarian products, made as fast as he can produce them, they are also works of art personal to him. ALL of the work is done by him, by hand. In the case of my own boards, that even included making the press (forms). As an artisan, he is only interested in product as close to perfection as he can get, so straight away, you must forget about delivery dates and schedules. When they are done, they are done, and not before. If they come out of the press sub standard in any way, he will make them again, and again, and again.. you get the picture! Also, like all artists, he is reluctant to part with his creations, so expect them to spend a day or two in his shop just being admired before they get shipped.
The process begins with your ideas for what you want. There will then be a consultation process where recommendations and refinements will be made by both sides. Graphics will have to be decided. This is a very exciting time as you see your dream begin to take shape. Once the details are nailed down, work begins on the forms inwhich the boards will be pressed. Once they are done, production can be completed. Following production, Brett will evealuate the result to his own exacting standards, then either ship or reject. Your project will not be the only one in his shop, but he will still give you 100% personal attention.
But be warned, this is a long process. I guarantee there will be moments of frustration. Just bear in mind the reality of what you are asking, and have patience. It will pay off in spades.
Also bear in mind that you will be doing this for the good of the skiboarding community as a whole. If your design proves a success, it may well pass into Bretts stock line up. Do not expect payment or royalties for this. If that is what you are looking for, shop elsewhere.
When you get your boards, you will find they have something indefinable about them. These will be your brainchild built by hand in California. They will be hand finished and hand prepared. These boards will have SOUL.
I mentioned a stock line up. Just now it is early days, but in time you may be able to buy boards that somebody else has designed that Brazen has in stock for immediate shipment. This will get you the Brazen experience quickly, but if you want a custom board, you need to start thinking about it NOW, not in November. A shorter route is to maybe order one of the stock products, but with custom graphics, or maybe a small variation in spec.
Whatever, the custom experience has come to skiboarding.... enjoy.
