Utah Trip with Bent Films, Feb. 20th-27th 2004
Well, here we are again.....(just can't wait to be on the road
again...*cough*) Park City Utah. The
land
of people who like jesus, powder, and really gnarly rails....
they don't breed hideous women either.
We arrived on Friday at SLC airport.... met up with Bailey Mitchell,
Kevin Boate, Paul Recalde, and the abominable BC (brian class).
Greco was going to meet us on monday, so from the airport, we
located everyone and shuttled to our hotel room in Park City.
The plan was to ride at The Canyons (thecanyons.com) resort for
4 days, and Park City Mountain Resort (www.parkcitymountain.com)
for 3.
The first night, we all headed to the local grocery joint to
get some food as cheap as we could, bailey got his weeks worth
of food for 14$ american, kevin was 18$ and i came in second at
an even 15$... not bad for a weeks worth of grub! But alas, our
beds were calling, so we went home to rest for the night.
We headed to the canyons the next day, and hooked up with Katie
Eldridge. A busy woman who made time to help out 5 skiboarders.
After we got our tickets we headed up to the park. We saw a bunch
of flat bars, a tight S rail, and a few kickers....needless to
say, it went off.... Paul Recalde
brought his 3chip, and we had some super 8's rolling. The S rail
got annihilated with butters, spins off, and fakies on..... the
flat bars were getting makio'd and just torn apart.....
The next 3 days at the canyons consisted of some sick powder,
tree lines, park hits, buttery goodness and other tricks and lines
unseen on shortboards.
We headed to park city to finish off our week, and we couldn't
have came on a more perfect day. Totally bluebird. perfect park.
Amazing talent in the park. and a PERFECT PARK. my god..... Krista
Rowles from Park City helped us out with tickets, and we got the
footage to make up for it. 450's off.... fast slides, tail presses,
butters, fakie tricks, big 180s, mistys, 720s, lipslides.... soooo
many tricks went down in that park that were never seen before.....
wow.
All in all the trip was an ENORMOUS success. Other then class
going home early due to an
injury,
we tasted the best powder, the best parks and some urban goodies
along the way.
HUGE thanks go to Katie Eldridge and Krista Rowles, The Canyons
and Park city respectively. Greco at Skiboardsonline.com for the
upgrade, Jazz game and the "spirits", Mix Skiboards,
and Canon Skiboards for the board hookup. Tip-2-Tip for the buttons
and for representing. Fear The Dwarf!!!!!!!
