    I just saw this post today. Hope you got a resolution. I really think that mounting the binding forward will hurt the backcountry performance. I didn't do backcountry. If you do go with a forward mount, I would suggest going 4cm in front of the factory mount. Hagan changed the suggested mounting position forward on new boards a while back. If you have a newer model, the factory mount may be more forward than the pairs I owned. If you mount the binding and don't like it, you can always fill the holes with silicone calk and remount the binding.
